  1. Years ago, not 100% sure when.
  2. 100% Something similar alluded to in the high school rulebook, but I haven't looked at the college rulebook in a bit.
  3. Also mentioned (years ago) that he stopped doing leg passes in MMA so he didn't get caught in a leg submission during the entanglement. Just this week, he argued that PD should not be a thing in college wrestling. This is EXACTLY why PD should be a thing. Dangerous positions, that while not "illegal" are often unintentional and can result in injury. Not every position can be covered by the rule book! Meanwhile, last week, Ben (whom I am a fan of) was still under the impression that a toe hold was illegal (but it hasn't been for year.)
  4. Only freshmen; and five dates.
  5. They just didn't know how to handle the "arm behind the back" stance or the "run to the edge" in big matches, or they would have made changes.
  6. I hope he is fine, and I'm sure he will be, but PSU may want to evaluate their 1950s training methods after recent issues with Howard, Nagao, SVN, and now Stall Rocky. Almost half the lineup, not to mention "no-knees" Kerk.
  7. No! Low core temperature is good, unless you have hypothermia or thyroid conditions or are dead. A small spike in his core temp would be a concern.
  8. Smith, another American (and yes, I know Puerto Ricans are American citizens) whom I believe wrestled in CA and then their community college system.
  9. But they did redshirt.
  10. Does Cael's loss from his redshirt year count? Does "undefeated" have an asterisk next to it? He was enrolled, at Iowa State, there was a referee, they had a match at a collegiate tournament. No... because they both wrestled under the rules of the day.
  11. Did they redshirt? O'Toole did not.
  12. How about some questions? Do you think one of his athletes, who appears to worship him, would use a substance that "Coach Cal" did not tell him to. Do you think that with all the blood tests that they say the Treigning Lab has them perform, that an athlete would be on EPO without the great Coach Cal noticing a unexpected ridiculously high RBC or some other marker?
  13. Why an asterisk? No redshirt. 4 in five years. Just like Cael, Pat Smith, Steiber.
  14. Says the guy with the 85 VO2 max! https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2019/04/duane-ludwig-sam-calavitta-tj-dillashaws-usada-failure-inexcusable-epo-ex-ufc-champ-drug-test-steroids Just know these guys talk about "Coach Cal" as if he were the Messiah; they would never put anything into their bodies that he didn't recommend. P.S. Best part of the "Coach Cal" press release is he calls himself a "man of few words" and then proceeds to use far too many words and butchers standard conventions of written English repeatedly.
  15. Why the asterisk? His freshman year would have been a redshirt, but it was the free year, so he wrestled. I don't see any cause for an asterisk.
  16. I'm talking about Coach Cal from the Treigning Lab, but I have often wondered if that was Gilman's Voodoo practitioner. PSU and the NLWC both have memberships with the Treigning Lab. So did TJ Dillashaw, when he tested positive for EPO during his horrific weight cut.
  17. https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/time-to-redefine-normal-body-temperature-2020031319173 Some interesting info here. Sayonara 98.6!
  18. Guy in California who seems to have a somewhat cultish following and engages in pseudo-scientific practices, and has had methods and "supplementation " practices come into question. Let's put it this way... he arouses suspicion in the MMA world...
  19. Not to mention Hidlay's FS win over Amine in 2021.
  20. OK, but what about the other guy who is ranked #1 who had a similar growth spurt? Not to mention, Hidlay made weight at 197 for a dual and then went 86 kg the next day (Farrell). Can't be too much of a "growth spurt."
  21. Bro tries to discredit anyone not PSU/NLWC. Embarrassing.
  22. I guess that answers, the Lee vs RBY debate. Lee by forfeit.
  23. Sorry. Not nearly as bad as throwing objects at an official, no matter how you try to rationalize it.
