  1. I think he said Big 12 people. He may have also said that this type of incident would never happen at NCAA.
  2. That is one way of looking at it. And that is the job he is paid to do. The other school of thought is to be an ambassador of the sport. As much hatred as Tom Brands gets, he does a much much better job of this.
  3. I believe there may have been wildcards too. My teammate finished 3rd in D2 and qualified.
  4. Factor in the fact that the courts have repeatedly showing they favor athletes rights over the past several years...
  5. I don't like the fact that he isn't concerned about promoting the sport of wrestling as a whole, and even resists opportunities to promote his own team to larger audiences throughout the season. (Duals against up and coming programs/national duals/etc.)
  6. I can understand wanting crush OSU. What I don't understand is how he doesn't really care to support the sport outside of his own program.
  7. So, it is safe to say this is "hearsay?"
  8. "Malarkey" is also a solid choice, but prob not next to balderdash, esp considering your story!
  9. "Flagged for removal" I would hope common sense would prevail.
  10. Do you think Gable has a better gas tank than Snyder? The only college heavy of my lifetime that I think could compete with Gable would be prime Stephen Neal. Size, athleticism, gas tank.
  11. Yeah but PSUs antiquated training methods have beaten his body down badly and he is physically a shell of what he was as a Gopher.
  12. Oklahoma State is anti-waist band.
  13. Maybe Heskett? But, I saw them both at the 97 Dapper Dan and felt Sanderson looked better. Little did we know that Heskett has some really serious cardiac issues. I wonder how much, if any, these issues were affecting him in high school and college.
  14. As a Wolfpack fan, can I get a thumbs down emoji?
  15. I wrestled D2. Graduated in early 90s. I had a teammate qualify for the d1 tourney. Another guy, my roommate was 5th in D2 and had multiple wins over qualifiers including splitting with a R12 guy, including a win by major in their last meeting as seniors. A lot has changed in 30 years. The D1s are better at recruiting and don't miss on as many guys. The d1 training and coaching is better than it was, I think. Also the lower divisions don't get to challenge themselves as much against the big boys anymore. My roommate had a much closer match against the r12 guy than he thought it would be in their first meeting. That gave him a lot of confidence. When they met each other again less than a month later, my roommate took it to him and even turned the guy. I'm not sure how much that could happen these days.I mean, I was maybe above average d2 and I would hold d1 qualifiers/top 20 types to a regular decision if I had a decent match.
  16. Deguire shouldn't be much of a surprise. Had 6 pins in tourney and a 3rd place finish two years ago. Missed last year. Very entertaining. Wrestles like a middle school wrestler, but hits everything HARD.
  17. Thank you! All time great stuff!
  18. I love all these guys, and a good list, but I think Lee Kemp (not Schultz) was the presumptive USA Olympian in 1980.
  19. Could someone please please please get 100 old Kentucky Mudflap posts and run them through this AI?
  20. It was for all sports.
  21. And that is one of the major differences. Brennan was extremely under the radar.
  22. I see a lot of people not caring about rules these days.
