  1. After watching Basch‘s interview with Drake, I will say him for sure. Mesenbrink another guy I think.
  2. No idea who is in charge of negotiations. Not aware of anything related to Duke.
  3. Yep. Mineo is spot on
  4. Rocco approached them about the transfer but it wasn’t a done deal until they worked out the financial side of things. That is where the friction began on Ryder’s side because yes they paid Rocco quite a bit.
  5. Psu misplayed this for sure. Everyone acting like Rocco just walked on there when in reality they paid him way more than Ryder and that didn’t go over well. It’s one thing to bring someone on a level playing field ala dean/beard but this was different circumstances and it pissed people off.
  6. Wouldn’t be surprised. Doesn’t seem like a good fit for the lineup and there is a couple other teams who make a lot more sense..
  7. Guess the news came real quick on Kueter.. no football this year https://x.com/DMRsports/status/1907996569950969942
  8. Barr isn’t going 184. End of story.
  9. Iowa already has him, he is recovering from another ACL surgery.
  10. Ryder didn’t like Rocco getting a bag so he decided he would get one elsewhere.
  11. This is why we can’t have serious conversations.
  12. I know this topic is more about Caliendo but it’s interesting to see fans perception related to Kharchla and even tOSU. I like to apply the Iowa test here. What would wrestling fans say if Kharchla wrestled for Iowa and had the career he had? Spoiler alert people would blame the Brands. So why does Tom Ryan get a pass on this and with the state of the team in general? Their recruiting and results do not align. Genuinely curious, I’ll hang up and listen.
  13. I don’t have a dog in the fight, but my theory on it is if Kueter was going to be legitimately challenging for a spot this year he wouldn’t have taken last year off completely. Football rules the roost even at Iowa. It’s all just speculation at this point but if he isn’t on the two deep at the end of spring ball my guess is he’s done with football. If he is starting and goes into the season as a starter then vice versa. If he is in the hunt but not starting maybe he stays doing both. It feels like the next few months will be the determining factor so we’ll see soon enough.
  14. Couldn’t agree more.
  15. You obviously feel very strongly about this. I have no doubt he will give it a go this spring but I think Ferentz is leaving the door open to the fact that it might change after spring practice depending on circumstances. I would imagine that means it could change for wrestling too.
  16. Not interested in a new award. Somewhat related, I have been toying around with the idea of a dominance percentage that could be used for Hodge purposes. It’s essentially a weighted bonus percentage that factors in the wrestlestat ranking of the opponent. It’s kind of interesting. For example Wyatt scores much higher than Carter despite Carter having a slightly higher bonus rate.
  17. Scholarship $$ not included but psu spreads their money around a lot so that isn’t substantial. That’s all I have on the topic unfortunately. It would be interesting to see how they are structured.
  18. Wait until someone tells JimmySpeaks how much more debt is going to be added over the next 4 years. Spoiler alert it’s not great Jimmy.
  19. This seems to imply things with Kueter playing Football aren’t settled: Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz said earlier this week that Ben Kueter hasn’t yet returned to football, and needs some time off after wrestling season. He noted the HWT class opening up next year, and said doing both sports would be “a real challenge.”
  20. Someone who would know.
  21. Here are the numbers as I understand them: Oklahoma State and Michigan made slightly big offers to Rocco. Iowa did not make an offer. PSU gave him $600k over 3 years. OSU was around $250k a year and Michigan a little less but higher than PSU.
  22. Lmao. Dean is good but a zero time AA. You are drinking the kool aid if you think Iowa is paying him a bag. I am sure he’s getting some money but it is highly unlikely to be much more than he got at Rutgers.
  23. They have Paddy up at 165 next year. Either Chittum or Cannon are planning to suck down to 149 or they plan to redshirt Chittum then move either Cannon or him up. Chittum at tOSU seems like a weird fit to me.
  24. Oklahoma State had 6 starters who transferred in last year. It was 7 most of the year until Carter Young was replaced.
