  1. Zou is a large 57 KG guy who can also handfight. I actually expect Lee to attempt to make quick work of him this time. He already knows if he lets him stay in the match, it is going to be a dogfight and you don't want that in a Round 1 matchup. Ishiguro is also a tough next match. He had kind of a brain fart at Worlds last year, but aside for that he has only lost to the elite as well. He also holds the last victory in the series with both Aaron Brooks and Dauletbekov. He pulled off a Techfellery via 11-0 on Valencia at 2023 Zegrab.
  2. Without Taylor, Dauletbekov was the 2nd most proven wrestler in this bracket. I fully expect him to win Bronze if (when) Brooks beats him. I think we see the Top 4 guys get all four medals at this weight.
  3. No, Hildebrandt will now wrestle Cuba's Guzman for gold. The rules are in place to the point where they plan for missed weight, if needed.
  4. I also agree with them that she earned Silver at the very least. It is a shame she missed weight. She still missed weight, though.
  5. A lot of folks losing their shit over Vinesh missing weight on Twatter. While I am annoyed Hildebrandt doesn't just get awarded the gold, I understand that the rules are in place and have been in place for many months. If you break the rules, you must suffer whatever consequences those rules state.
  6. Serbian lost his next match - Jacobson is out. MGR went 0W - 5L. Coon did the best, I would say, right? A 3-1 loss to a Bronze medal winner and defending world champion who defeated every other wrestler he faced by a wider margin?
  7. So Hildebrandt has lost to the lady from India in the past via 8-2 Decision.
  8. No, I didn't delete anything on there. He said something along the lines of "TELL THE TRUTH #57KG"or something quite similar.
  9. Track was wrong, you were right.
  10. You understand that him holding the spot for Serbia held out another Russian, correct? We have our own Cold War front going on in the trenches here.
  11. A match with Zhadrayev (who has never beaten an opponent from the USA) is a much better first round match for Bey.
  12. Brackets are showing Zhadrayev for Bey on Track.
  13. Oborududu checking that doo-doo? On another more relevant subject, Oborududu is the only one who was ever able to match TMS power for power, once TMS hit her stride and started winning titles.
  14. To be fair, Zhumanazarova of Kyrgyzstan is also a former Worlds Champion. She also took 3rd at 2020(1) Olympics losing to the Nigerian that she has next round.
  15. Two time defending WC (from other weight classes, yeah...) and it still isn't a bad take. J/s.
  16. HOLY SHIT. Ozaki down 6-4 gets a TD with a minute to go. KGZ goes and gets one with 7 seconds left. Ozaki was WC at 62 KG in 2022, at 65 KG in 2023 and does not make the Finals this year. Stalled her way to a loss in the final seconds.
  17. Uguev. 5th last year and multiple time champion (2 Worlds, 1 Olympic), including three straight from 2018-2020(1).
  18. I believe what @jchapman would say is that we likely don't see him at 57 KG again unless it is held in Serbia. I believe a lot of people would have said that prior to it ever being in Serbia. Hell, even though I won't wear my tinfoil hat with this one, I will say that it is odd that he was already competing at 65 KG up until two months prior to Worlds last year...
  19. A 3-1 loss to the defending World Champ and odds-on favorite to win isn't that horrible. He likely will get pulled in, if the Iranian gets by Lopez. It could benefit Coon in that I could see Lopez not wrestling Repechage if he make sit through.
  20. He knows. He is generally not a Turdbiscuit, though, so I take him trying to dunk on someone who has already accomplished so much more in this sport than he could have ever dreamed of as a 'him' thing.
  21. 10-2 for Elor. Garbage time TD for the defending world champ from Turkey when Elor was up 8-0 (~10 seconds to go).
  22. Excuse me, gents, while I fanboy here...
  23. I was going to post something mean, but then it dawned on me that you might just be jealous. I imagine that is a bad headspace to be in. Mental health awareness in men is important and I am here for you, if you need soemone.
  24. So one of three (3) things will happen with the 57 KG bracket. 1 ) Serbia will have a replacement wrestler come in. I believe they had a recent Russian transfer in, however I do not know if he would meet the vetting process deadline. 2 ) The next guy up gets in, or the next guy up who is already in Paris. Iran or India were next up, I think? I don't know if either would think to send a 57 KG guy 'just in case' so there is that. 3 ) Whatever deadline that needs to pass passed already and the 57 KG bracket will remain as-is with the guy who was drawn in to face Micic essentially getting a bye. I do suppose there is a 3B ) in that they move everyone up and either the new #1 gets a bye or the bye gets drawn-in.
