  1. Also, as far as Michigan goes, there are a few 149lb options on the market right now. I just don't think they are going to go for a 'Jamison' type get because they have both Mantanona brothers, Adams, and Gilcher coming that should be the 149-165 gents for a few years. The younger Mantanona could be the 141lber, too. I could and would welcome being wrong, though.
  2. You also could be correct. In my day there weren't all these exceptions, so to say.
  3. That is the rule now. Was that the rule then? Would they apply a 'now' rule to then? Aside for that, all fair points. It would be cool if he had two years left and at his proper weight, I just don't know that it seem fair. He wrestled for the team four years already and wasn't able to go further due to well known weight issues. I guess what I am saying is that I wouldn't be upset if they didn't grant him a 2nd year left. He's been wrestling.
  4. Michigan needs a 149lber and Woodley (who I saw over the weekend did say he was 'done done' btw) was there last year. I bet he goes to Michigan.
  5. My first gut reaction was that maybe KD and DT are over at M2 for the next few weeks, but then I got to thinking "Why would the WC head somewhere else?" That makes me think they have different time slots. I think they might even let the wrestlers choose what they focus on, and not actually coach them up.
  6. I think this is a huge reason Brooks is right up there with his underhook game. He had to simulate the best in the world and got to be pretty damn good. He might even be Hidlay good with that underhook series.
  7. Even if he didn't wrestle past 12/29, he wrestled eight (8) duals - actually half their wins as a team. Rutgers went 16-5 as a team and in eight of those wins, Sammy Alvarez wrestled.
  8. This is the one reason I am not going to be surprised if Richards pulls one match out. Despite one of them being a career 133lber and one of them being a career 125lber in college... https://www.wrestlestat.com/wrestler/13245/gilman-thomas/profile https://www.wrestlestat.com/wrestler/14736/richards-zane/profile ... I do think that after the Olympics we might see Gilman head up to 61 KG for a couple years, if he does decide to compete through 2028, and then drop back to 57 KG the year before 2028 OTTs (2027 WTT).
  9. A lot of smoke saying he is going up this year.
  10. How? He has represented Rutgers in a dual four years. 2020 - 16 duals 2021 (free year) - 3 duals (late in the season too) 2022 - 8 duals 2023 - 8 duals How in the hell does he get six attached seasons?
  11. There are levels to this and, all due respect, Richards just isn't there (yet). I wish him health and good fortune. I just don't see it.
  12. They should do okay. I think Iowa beats them both, though.
  13. I think we see the Frost brothers at 133/141 for Iowa State.
  14. You didn't really answer mybquestion, though. As far as Swafford, if you believe PK and Swafford's brother, he will be a high AA contender.
  15. You said there were 13 moves before the resignation. You need about eight more and then I think Gillman resigns then retires.
  16. Do none of you follow the Tank on Twitter or Instagram? He is THICCC (three C's there, guys) and he doesn't look fat. If he was 97 KG wrestling 97 KG before then he is probably a good 8-10 KG over that right now. Steveson weighed in at just over 118 KG (~260lbs) in his OTT finals against Gwiazdowski two years ago. He looks a little more lean than he did then, but bigger arms, shoulders, and legs. If I had to guess I would say in the 255lbs range still.
  17. Despite me being the President, Vice President, CFO, CEO, and Captain of the Cheerleading Squad of the Parris Fanclub I also understand this as true. I also understand it to be that no other country will be winning Gold unless Steveson stops wrestling, not just Parris. The only three ways that isn't true is if Steveson somehow gets injured, whatever Worlds/Olympics are that year get altogether cancelled, or Sadulaev goes 125 KG and is in the bracket (GUY LOOKS THICCC).
  18. Franklin beat Glazier last year and he is younger so I would think he is the guy. What is your opinion on these lineups, assuming Arnold redshirts (he should) 174 - Brands/Swafford 184 - Brands/Swafford 197 - Assad Or 174 - Brands/Swafford 184 - Assad 197 - Franklin/Glazier Also, IF Focus does make it in (AJ) and he is HWT (which most agree/assume he would be), who do you take? Two years of him or four years of Kueter (after he redshirts).
  19. See below @BlacknGold Football takes priority.
  20. Didn't he lose to like the OSU 6th string, a JUCO guy and a D2 guy last year? Will he be their starter with Model gone?
  21. All that is fine... Steveson dispatched Akgul how easily at the Olympics? Add two years to Akgul. Parris definitely gives him match. Also, ignore it all you want... Parris beat Zare. Also, didn't Zare just lose during some club season? He isn't invincible.
  22. Yes. A guy can hope, though. He is a special talent and if football is covering his scholarship then he has a vested interest in saying he is focused on football.
  23. It wasn't a fluke and it is also time to stop calling it that too. It isn't like he was down 8-0 and got a lucky pin like Guilford did against Welker. It was 1-1 before the dump and Parris (two 'r's - respect the name) then continued to hold him there while adjusting his position three times. Both are much bigger and stronger and both are lethal right now.
  24. To go along with your point, they may be okay with him doing a redshirt in football to also stay down at 197 for true frosh in wrestling, then redshirt wrestling to bulk in football for a season then three years of HWT Kueter. That said, I still bet football gets the actual say if he does compete or not. If it were the sell, or not, I bet they still get the say.
