why not Camacho? I know we aren't supposed to take freestyle into account, but he has beaten both of last year's finalists (teched Glory at the open). I understand not wanting to reward him for not competing at CKLV while the rest of his team did but he has been injury prone...
If Cass is truly that light, me thinks he is not one of the 2 wrestlers with ongoing gambling appeals that Brands mentioned in his last press conference. I can't think why Cass would trim down to 215-225ish if he was planning on wrestling folkstyle heavyweights
When was the last time Fix bonused a top 5 guy?
There is a reason he hasn't been 125 since his r3dshirt year. The cut absolutely will suck for an entire season. Couple that with the fact that he hasn't separated himself by a wide margin from the masses at 133 and I feel very confident he would find himself in a lot of challenging matches at 125
Given his injury history I am pleasantly surprised to hear he is wrestling so soon again. He's spent more time rehabbing than wrestling the last couple of years. If he's feeling healthy, aybe he wants more matches in
No not quite that extreme. I thought he would get fat and slow and would get crunched underneath when shooting. Instead, I think he might be my favorite heavyweight
You might be right. Is it possible that Ramos losing actually makes 125 deeper than it appears? Perhaps Ramos isn't a good early season wrestler? He had some questionable losses early last season too. Heck, he got majored by DeAug at big ten's. Maybe he's just inconsistent and had the tourney of a lifetime last march
no, really, I am curious. You got me interested and I'm going to watch it later once I finish drinking but can you help a feller out and give more details about why you brought it up
Would be interesting to get some numbers on this but I think this sentiment is a little overblown. I don't follow the program assiduously, but I believe they have been hammered by injuries lately which could contribute to some of the top recruits having "down" performances.
On the other hand, Mendez is looking like the favorite to win the title, as of this moment at least.
I believe this time last year Levi took a really weird loss to some no name. Cardenas is no slouch. Shapiro very well might still end up in the finals by the time NCAAs roll around
Or he could end up another Hamiti
well, on one hand, that was a pretty uninspiring effort. On the other hand, Griffith has taken a loss every season since covid and has done pretty well at the last dance. Still, that is probably his worst loss ever
