  1. I would have expected him to beat Stout or Salazar based on his results from last year (well, prior to NCAAs). The loss to Bates is very eye opening. Maybe he's adjusting to the new room. Maybe this is who he was all along. Or maybe the Brands were able to bring the best out of him. I'm biased, so I lean towards the last option but I think it is notable that it seems like all the Iowa out-transfers are performing worse this year (except for Riggins, who sucked it up at 184 last year)
  2. he should have one more year I'm pretty sure. 2021 was free, 2022 was redshirt behind Marinara and he has had 3 seasons on the books including this one since then
  3. Bet your bitcoin on it
  4. Saw that. He has a colorful way with words
  5. lol, you sure are woefully uninformed. Arnold's dad is a prominent poster on HR. It will take a bit of digging, but his posts concerning his son's career are there for everyone to see.
  6. Mizzou has been banged up every year for the last 5, if not longer. Yet no one is suggesting Smith and his archaic training methods should be banished
  7. Oh, has tape behind his knee sleeve as well
  8. Buchanan has progressively gotten more tape on his upper back as the season has gone along. Now has his neck strapped up
  9. ohhhhhhh. If so, disregard my previous post. This is really $h!tty. Just let them wrestle. Unless Garnold is actually hurt. It kinda seemed to me like he was limping a little as he walked off after his semifinal match
  10. That's what I am thinking. Whether this was planned from the start or a game time decision, it only makes sense to have Garnold be the one to forfeit if you see a benefit to Ferarri getting the "win" on his record.
  11. Concerning result by Caliendo. But props to Sparks, he is scrappy and made some good scrambles happen. I'm curious as to why they had Arnold forfeit TO Ferarri. Shouldn't it be the other way around? That will count as a loss for Arnold, right? I don't really understand this move unless the plan is to burn Ferarri's redshirt, which would then pad his record with a "win" over Garnold.
  12. this just reminded me of how really, outrageously bad of a year ASU has had... thoughts and prayers
  13. Buchanan wins 2-0. He got in deep once in the first period but Merrill defended well. Merrill presented himself very well. I'm afraid he is going to be a menace
  14. Merrill from OSU (Gilman in the corner) has wrestled Buchanan tough. 40 seconds left in the 3rd period with Buchy 2-0 on account of riding time
  15. I hate this attitude. Let them wrestle. And if you have listened to Gabe Arnold over the years (and read what his dad has written) he is effusive about Iowa. No way he leaves (this year). Can't comment on Angelo.
  16. I see now why Brands has been hellbent on pilfering ASU. I kid! Even as an Iowa fan, I am surprised to see how relatively big the gap is between 2nd and 3rd in terms of AA production "over time." But, this kinda feeds into what I think is the most concerning thing about the program and that is the relative low number of champs (your graphs don't elucidate this point but others have made it, and it's easy to look up). Recruits may already be thinking "Iowa will make you pretty good, but won't get you to the top". As for the original topic, I have a hunch that the Brands won't seriously consider retiring until after they get one more team title. But maybe they'll be forced out by the end of the current contract (2029). In either case, we can kick the can down the road for a few more years
  17. These probable lineups have a long history of being unreliable. I will wait until brackets are out before spilling my mustard
  18. I've been lurking on some iteration of these forums for about 15 years and I still don't fully know... What the lore behind this is?
  19. Im rooting for Ramos but underestimating Luke this early is madness.
  20. This is pretty tasty. Let me consult the nog and I might take you up if Spencer Lee gets busy streaming games and forgets to respond
  21. mcdonald's happy meal with half of an entire box of wine (Franzia chillable red, to be precise).
  22. Can you explain? I saw a similar comment on the livestream and feel like I'm missing something
  23. Nvm O'Toole >>> Haines confirmed...
  24. Oof, it will suck if they reverse this because O'Toole was in good position to get a definitive takedown from that position if it wasn't called early
  25. An eggcellent scramble in OT. The east of the match was hohum
