  1. I too am concerned at the impact the carousel of transfers might have on team culture. However, I have to disagree that the difference between Glazier and Buchanan is negligible. The Glaze scored 1.5 points last year. I'm sad to see him go and wish him well but all objective measures point to his replacement being a notable upgrade. Doesn't mean I have to be ecstatic about it and doesn't change the fact that I think an overreliance on transfers is a potentially disquieting trend. Everything I've heard indicates that Ayala is well taken care of and is happy with where he is at. I haven't heard anyone say Angelo is having anything other than a pretty good time.
  2. On the giggling girls (aka "clash of combat") podcast Real said he had desires of going to med school. This was prior to last season so intentions may have changed. I have no idea if he is/was taking STEM classes while in Iowa or what he intends to pursue, if anything, academically at MICH.
  3. this is a suprise, I thought I read somewhere that he was pursuing his masters. Plus, in an podcast interview with the giggling girls he said he wanted to go to medical school.
  4. Taking acting class with the suriano
  5. I like the bob dole reaction, I wish there was a greater variety. Perhaps a similar graphic but rendered in a stone like texture that we can bestow upon posters that give a "rock hard" take
  6. Why did I laugh? Whats your vendetta against these 3? They are nothing alike in terms personality or wrestling style. All 3 work really hard so I guess that is one commonality.
  7. I don't think we see Teemer or Buchanan first semester. If so, I unfortunately have a hard time seeing the Hawks pull through against ISU
  8. I would be interested in his thoughts on NIL. My understanding from the one person I talk to that claims to have an in with the program is that TnT are very uncomfortable with the current landscape (NIL, transfer portal) but want to do whatever it takes to be competitive and win (begs the question, are they THAT uncomfortable with it then?) Gable's rosters were not filled with a bunch of choir boys so I don't think recruiting AJ would be something he would scoff at. AJs actions probably did not impress him much though. All the wrestler interviews I have read or listened to the years, particularly recent ones from Lee, DeSanto, Lugo, Warner, Marinelli, and Kemmmmmmerererer were nothing but effusive in praise for their coaches passion and dedication. Who is requesting they change their actions? Bear in mind, Gable had plenty of mat side antics himself, just not featuring quite as many gesticulations.
  9. Is he proven to be the one writing them checks? Getting 5th twice in a row would be considered a disaster so I think whoever is bankrolling these roster additions does think 1.5 mil is worth a 2nd place trophy
  10. Does he actually have any eligibility left? Would be cool if he just went back to MiniSoda
  11. I found it notable that he tore and restore his mcl and tore a ligament in his wrist. I'd make a joke about Carl running his guys into the ground but some people would think I'm being serious
  12. If Iowa could somehow lure Richie Fig Newton over they could make this dual interesting (Plus do to ASU what Michigan did to Northwestern)
  13. This is very interesting! Imagine, start period 1 in MFS, then, instead of par terre, the wrestler that wins the coinflip gets to choose whether to start period 2 in GR or FS
  14. Teemer could have taken issue with the 500k and free apartment allegations and/or it being a "done deal" at that point
  15. A potential finalist at 157 is really nice, like wiping your butt with silk nice. But if the rumblings about him wanting to go up to 165 are true, this looks like a weird move, unless Caliendo can make 157 (I am under the impression that Kennedy really cannot cut down below 165)
  16. You're being too reasonable
  17. I like the distribution but, man, how many people are going to make 55?
  18. RBY, Gilman, DT, Kennedy all trained or worked together before at NLWC so I'm wondering how things will be different? Gilman had a great career but RBY, despite wrestling more freestyle than Spencer Lee since entering college, had a suboptimal Olympics. This is exciting for Cowboy RTC but I'm just not sure how this changes anything for RBY. Is he going to become LESS defensive training with Fix?
  19. First off, I couldn't find any online sources to confirm this so take this with a grain of salt but apparently Mr. Pyles heard Rei say he would wait and see what UWW was going to do with the weights before deciding what his future holds. This got me thinking, what weight changes would you like to see? 59 63 66 71 75 80 87 93 100 130 is what I'd like to see.
  20. I don't understand this move from a long term success perspective. Wouldn't endowing the RTC with mucho dinero yield greater ROI?
  21. 34 man bracket. 3 minute, single period sprint matches. Repechage is OK. Get fuxing rid of grounding. I don't know what I'm talking about
  22. Brooks maybe could have benefited from a little more experience. He'll get there
  23. Word? I'll make sure to bring cookies with me to LA
