  1. Yup. And Surber had by far his best regular season. Something was very off this weekend but we may never know what
  2. Anyone know why Carter chose not to participate?
  3. 157: Teague Travis may come back up to 157. Robideau or Routledge could do well, but I think RS would be wise. 165: Lockett seems like a lock here. He's called his shot already. 174: May be the biggest hole. Incoming transfer maybe? 184: Brayden Thompson is probably the guy assuming he's continued developing. 197: Cody Merrill. HWT: Doucet is serviceable if he chooses to return for a final year. Overall, I think it will be a down year for the team, unless there are some portal guys beating down the door to get in. And there just might be after seeing what the previous crop just did.
  4. Agreed. They could've saved this for the midweek show. Have on Wyatt who just brought more national attention to folkstyle wrestling than it's had in who knows how long. Or Carter who just did something no one else will ever do. Or Hamiti who went through two champions. Or Lovett or Buchanan or Mendez or Antrell or Byrd or Mitch or Vince.
  5. that was one of those most obvious lung bricks of the tourney lol
  6. Some have said Kerkvliet was injured in practice sometime after B10s. He was still good enough to get to the semis, including a tech. We all saw Hendrickson get injured in the B12 finals. Some have said he pulled a bicep, but I'm not sure the specifics. They were both bandaged up. As you noted, Gable throttled Kerk two weeks ago when Kerk was fully healthy.
  7. Hamiti had the second hardest path after Wyatt, but he's not undefeated
  8. https://www.instagram.com/p/C6W-i_qJkiz/?hl=en&img_index=1 I guess Gable has been offended since last April....
  9. If you don't know the answer to that question, then I revise my previous statement to say you're underthinking it lol
  10. Good guy Gable. That's a nice moment
  11. i think you're over(under?)thinking it. This was not an international competition. If Gable had won, he didn't have a flag waiting for him to wrap up in.
  12. it's not a lifetime achievement award. This is from WIN Magazine who gives the award: "Wrestling’s equivalent to the Heisman Trophy is awarded annually by the Dan Hodge Trophy Voting Committee to the most dominant wrestler."
  13. I guess it's called Match Power. Here's the top 10 Match Power #1 Wyatt Hendrickson (Oklahoma State) 5.148 #2 Sonny Sasso (Virginia Tech) 4.909 #3 Rocco Welsh (Ohio State) 4.800 #4 Mitchell Mesenbrink (Penn State) 4.778 #5 Carter Starocci (Penn State) 4.769 #6 Gable Steveson (Minnesota) 4.684 #7 Ty Watters (West Virginia) 4.667 #7 Christian Moder (Bellarmine) 4.667 #9 Justin Rademacher (Oregon State) 4.600 #10 Gavin Nelson (Minnesota) 4.500
  14. @Wrestleknownothing do you know where to find the dominance scores?
  15. Maybe a lower percentage of matches, but Wyatt has a much higher dominance score because he gets a ton of pins as well as techs
  16. Hardy Mendez was sick. O'Toole Hamiti was great. So was Lovett Henson imo
  17. Not sure the counts but he had the highest dominance score before the tournament and then got three straight pins in the first three rounds.
  18. Most dominant wrestler by far in the NCAA. Also undefeated. Also just had the most impressive win maybe of all time. Beat TWO champions on his way to winning it. Beat an unbeatable Olympic Gold medalist. The stuff of legends
  19. Injury time instead of concussion was BS giving Mesenbrink a free point when dude got hit in the head
  20. could be a certain narcissist wanted a full crowd to welcome his fashionably late entrance
  21. From Rock Harrison's Twitter: Tonight's match order at 7:00: Starocci/Keckeisen Entry of @realDonaldTrump 125 133 141 149 157 165 174 197 Gable/Hendrickson
  22. I noticed in DT's post-semis interview he was very reserved and almost dejected sounding when talking about the matches against Haines and Kerkvliet. First I thought he was just tired from a long day, but he perked up a lot when talking about Spratley's match (even before DC came in). I think it was hard on him emotionally to coach against Levi and Greg
  23. I don't know how he makes 184, but if he stays there he'll have good competition. Angelo Ferrari, Rocco Welsh, Aeoden Sinclair, Zack Ryder
