  1. Your crap opinions have already been shown to be just that throughout this thread. If you want to keep ramming your thick skull into a wall to get your emotions out or to get attention or whatever your motivation is, go for it. Hope it's scratching that itch for you
  2. Bo has only fought at the highest level? That's the worst take I've seen in a while
  3. Ben left ONE as an undefeated, reigning multi-time champ. RDR left ONE after getting knocked out twice in a row ... and then he went and demolished Bo. It's ridiculous to compare Bo's MMA career to Ben's at this point
  4. Correct. RDR actually got finished twice in a row before leaving ONE.
  5. We've seen imperfect holds take people out and perfect holds not. You have to look at the reaction of the guy defending. Lawler's arm went limp. But like I said, that's not the point. The point is how you handle adversity. Askren battled back and got the dominant position. Bo folded mentally well before he folded physically.
  6. As for the bad stoppage, that was on Lawler for letting his arm go limp while getting choked. You see guys all the time actively letting the ref know they're okay to continue. Everyone in that arena thought Lawler was out. And yes, Askren got caught and KO'd. Anyone can get caught. But that's not the point. The point is Bo quit when he faced relatively mild adversity, while Askren battled back after getting it handed to him. Bo is more naturally gifted than Ben, but Ben was a legitimate fighter who didn't look for a way out.
  7. I think the 'American wrestling is the best MMA base' argument is can no longer hold up to scrutiny, but I think there are plenty of great athletes that will come from American wrestling and have good MMA careers. But to do that, they'll have to shed the notion that their wrestling is going to carry them to the top. Bo didn't even do well in wrestling positions. That should be a wakeup call to him.
  8. Askren was 19-2 in his MMA career. He was away from the game for a year and a half before his first UFC fight, where he beat a former champ then #6 ranked Robbie Lawler who was brutal. Askren got destroyed to start out that fight and he came back and won. Bo took a modest amount of damage by MMA standards and wilted. Askren was a champ like a dozen times over in Bellator and ONE. The guys he was beating for those belts were better than anyone Bo has beaten.
  9. Iowa is obviously a big lean, but I do think Melvin will give real consideration to other schools
  10. Hayden Schwab to N. Iowa
  11. If it were two Americans fighting, I suppose I would have to abstain from spectating, unless my state joins one of the warring factions and drafts me into service.
  12. Oh nationality doesn't count in exhibitions lmao. What a doofus. The Olympics is a contest among nations. The UFC, and virtually every other professional league, is not. It's common for people to have their favorite fighter be from a different nation. There will be a lot of Americans cheering for Tom Aspinall against Jon Jones if that fight ever happens.
  13. Can someone who follows Mineo tell me if he criticized Bo for cornering a Japanese guy and celebrating when the Japanese guy beat American wrestler Spencer Lee?
  14. If we can, I'd prefer the guy who earns more points to win
  15. Weigh-ins for the top six U20 125kg guys (in lbs) at the US Open: 219 — Cole Mirasola 226 — Dreshaun Ross 232 — Michael Mocco 246 — Koy Hopke 265 — Rocco Dellagatta 265 — Coby Merrill So yeah, Cole gave up only 7 lbs to Ross and 13 to Mocco.
  16. Yeah, exactly. I promise Zahid would be happy to let him test that claim any time he wants.
  17. The Constitution does distinguish in some respects between the rights of citizens and noncitizens: the right not to be discriminatorily denied the vote and the right to run for federal elective office are expressly restricted to citizens. All other rights, however, are written without such a limitation. The Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment due process and equal protection guarantees extend to all "persons." The rights attaching to criminal trials, including the right to a public trial, a trial by jury, the assistance of a lawyer, and the right to confront adverse witnesses, all apply to "the accused." And both the First Amendment's protections of political and religious freedoms and the Fourth Amendment's protection of privacy and liberty apply to "the people." The fact that the Framers chose to limit to citizens only the rights to vote and to run for federal office is one indication that they did not intend other constitutional rights to be so limited. Accordingly, the Supreme Court has squarely stated that neither the First Amendment nor the Fifth Amendment "acknowledges any distinction between citizens and resident aliens." For more than a century, the Court has recognized that the Equal Protection Clause is "universal in [its] application, to all persons within the territorial jurisdiction, without regard to differences of ... nationality." The Court has repeatedly stated that "the Due Process Clause applies to all 'persons' within the United States, including aliens, whether their presence here is lawful, unlawful, temporary, or permanent." 18. No.
  19. That was surprising. He got dominated on the mat and on the feet. He had a really nice takedown before he got reversed
  20. Excited to see Steed at 174. He could be a contender imo
  21. Askren announced it a couple weeks ago. Basically he has had a desire to coach at a higher level in addition to the youth coaching he does, and WI didn't have an RTC, so he made one and has Evan Wick training there. I don't expect KOT to leave Missouri any time soon. He's previously talked about the connections he has in the area and how that's important to him, and now he's doing some sort of housing development work. I think that's a big reason why he stayed at Mizzou all five years.
  22. He lost to Paniro this year, did worse at NCAAs, and doesn't have the quality wins Paniro has. Not exactly a sure bet to beat him out
