  1. Official PSU wrestling x/twitter account just trolling us all…
  2. I thought his style wouldn’t translate to top tier D1 wrestling. But I was wrong. Yeah he’s taken some losses this year particularly early in the season, but he looked really good against Nagao. He also appears to be a great teammate, for example he’s often the first guy congratulating other guys after a win. Not sure what happened with the handshake snub from the PSU bench. I’m gonna guess they weren’t looking or something but I laughed.
  3. That’s why I said I can understand not calling it in real time. But with instant replay and 2 refs, there is no excuse for not calling that a TD. It wasn’t a danger takedown, it was a regular takedown, and probably nearfall.
  4. Not really. I can understand not calling it in real time. But there’s no way that shouldn’t have been overturned on replay.
  5. I enjoyed the Braeden Davis is legitimately undefeated era
  6. 5% may be generous, but with O’Toole being taken to the brink by Hall, Carr losing to Ramirez, and Mesenbrink being a freshman, I think it’s at least 2 or 3%.
  7. I think everyone gets this. “Sub 50%” would still make him the biggest favorite, even if it’s something like O’Toole 45% Carr 30% Mesenbrink 20% The field 5%
  8. After pinning Latona and leading against Vito, he doesn’t seem like much of a dark horse, especially with 133 being fairly shallow after the top few guys IMO.
  9. I don’t remember exactly either but I’d agree. Dake/Taylor seemed to be more hyped than Dean/Nickal, but that may have been in part because Dean was expected to win. Nickal was just a sophomore with no titles yet. O’Toole going for his 4th vs Starocci going for his 5th would absolutely be the most anticipated NCAA match of all-time, easily.
  10. He did not look gassed against Mauller. He did look gassed against Brignola
  11. Ah whoops, yeah meant to include them on initial list
  12. Cannon not really relevant this year. Minnesota looks like the answer to me with some of the additional guys @MNRodent listed
  13. If PSU can’t count their own transfers (Nagao, Mesenbrink, Truax, Kerk), a transfer team would win 125: Ramos/Noto 133: Nagao 141: Woods 149: Gomez 157: Franek/Blockhus 165: Mesenbrink/Caliendo/Olejnik 174: Griffith 184: Truax 197: Beard/Buchanan 285: Kerk
  14. Does Echemendia count?
  15. So what teams have contributed the most TO the portal this season? Probably forgetting some and I know some were grad transfers or extenuating circumstances: Minnesota: Ramos, Nagao, Spratley Stanford: Griffith and Woods NDSU: Franek and Caliendo NC State: Noto and Poulin PSU: Beard, Nevills and Teske (can’t remember if Teske leaving PSU was pre-portal) UNI: Teske and Blockhus Iowa: Henson and unofficially Chittum Wisconsin: Gomez and Burwikkkk
  16. Was he training at the Ohio RTC?
  17. Carr could win, but there is absolutely no way Carr should be ranked ahead of O’Toole. And of course this thread is about the Hodge so is assuming O’Toole needs to go undefeated to win it.
  18. Complaining about reffing when you lose 47 to -1 is kinda sad
  19. Isn’t most of Cornell’s team transfers from TCCC?
  20. Can the seeding committee give Carr credit for beating Ramirez due to the duck?
  21. I mean if Mesenbrink beats one of them then wouldn’t that make it not a travesty?
