    Agreed. The fact that he was very recently facing criminal charges and then does this in literally his first tournament following all that is a terrible look. I wonder if he was already paid any NIL money (as evidenced by his “bag secured” hashtag)…this is one instance where I’m really curious if these NIL deals have any sort of contracts involved…

    Meh, I think it’s fair to say that was an apology. But I’m sure someone else made him do it and may have written it. But a little weird that it was a “story” or whatever which goes away after 24 hours I think, and Pyles said on the actual post there was a Scarface image or something which is odd. I believe AJ stands for Albert James and his dad is AJ Sr

    I mean I guess I’m biased but I’d like to think that wrestling is a better spectator sport if that clip is actually representative of competitive BJJ. Which it seems like it is, IIRC isn’t that what Gordon Ryan did against Nickal?

    I think the point is that while crawling around on your butt may be “good strategy,” it doesn’t make for very good TV. Kinda like wrestling matches where no one takes a shot.

    Staged by who? For what reason? If the claim is it was by AJ to get attention from the WWE or something, surely he could have waited for a bigger stage than the Soldier Salute right? I don’t think it was staged at all. I’m not surprised this happened, but I am surprised it happened in literally his first tournament before even joining the team, and against an Iowa wrestler…

    Brands won’t even comment about who’s suspended for gambling, of course he’s not going to comment about guys that aren’t even on the team. Will be interesting to see what happens with Angelo if AJ and Anthony are out though. Who knows if they actually will he though

    I’m surprised if one of the guys is an official. There is no constitutional right to be an official. When I was an official schools could say they don’t want certain guys officiating at their school, so I don’t see why they couldn’t all do that for this guy
