  1. I feel like everyone is just assuming Spencer pins Steen, but I wouldn't be completely shocked if he didn't
  2. I don't really have an issue with a 1-year holdback, 2 seems a bit much especially if you apparently don't even go to school. I thought most holdbacks still go to school at least. But clearly it worked out for him. TBH I think it also takes away some of the claims that I've heard of RBY being "raw" prior to getting to PSU. Not many guys have the opportunity to spend a year training full-time before even going to high school.
  3. I mean he did literally say he didn't go to school at all and just wrestled
  4. I know would still never happen, but Askren's idea of doing it as an extra match would be pretty cool... Side note, but I didn't realize RBY was held back twice in 8th grade (for athletic reasons)? He says that at 5:25 in this video (cool video though): It does look like he's only about 9.5 months younger than Fix, with Fix having been in college for an extra year.
  5. I did. Definitely surprised no one on HR did though. WKN’s thing says 7% of the picks here did
  6. Are they actually or are they assuming it’s Bearclaw?
  7. Cael cares much more about March than duals and my guess is (I got a plan or something) all else equal he would rather preserve the redshirt. But if it’s true that Haines might not be able to hold 157 for a long then that may change things.
  8. 125 Lee fall 6-0 Iowa 133 RBY dec 6-3 141 Woods dec 9-3 149 SVN dec 9-6 157 Siebrecht dec over Bearclaw (or Haines over Siebrecht but I don’t think he goes) 12-6 165 Facundo dec 12-9 174 Starocci dec 12-12 184 Brooks dec 15-12 PSU 197 Warner dec 15-15 285 Kerk dec 18-15 (21-12 if Haines wrestles)
  9. Isn’t Sealey only a junior?
  10. 18 match points? Still photos can’t tell you if someone was pinned or not (or getting nearfall for that matter)
  11. 4. Haines has a loss this year, so Cael’s 159-0 remains unbroken
  12. Got ya. I thought you were saying if Haines goes it’s not a tossup but if Bearclaw goes then it is.
  13. If you're assuming Bearclaw at 157, I think Siebrecht is the favorite (but wouldn't be shocked to see Bearclaw beat him).
  14. Yup, good point
  15. Who are you referring to?
  16. At first I thought they said the wrong guy’s name or something. But even after seeing the score for several more minutes they didn’t realize until the match ended. The only reasonable thing I can think of is maybe they thought he was awarded a reversal first? But I think it was 1-0 DeAugustino and they thought it went to 5-1 Renteria, so unless they still think there’s a 3 point nearfall their math would still be off.
  17. I would say don’t tie up. Rivera’s strategy of maintaining space seemed to work well. Not sure of bottom strategy. Probably try to get up off the whistle, don’t be afraid to get a couple cautions
  18. Who does BTN use for their rankings? IIRC he did not have one during the Wisconsin match
  19. Is Siebrecht not even ranked by Flo? It didn’t seem like it during the Wisconsin match. Haines should definitely be favored, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see Siebrecht win. But Haines also seems like someone with good positioning that wouldn’t typically get tripped up by the funk.
  20. The same call would also typically be made at the end of a period
  21. Hillger did lose to Lewis Fernandes at NCAA's last year and beat him this year. That looks to be the only result that's flipped from last year.
  22. Pyles' buddy Andy Smith was the one that sealed it for VT with the upset over Trumble
  23. What do you mean? "Loss of control" is a pretty standard call
  24. That counter by Trombley against Ventresca in SV was insane. Ben Askren would've loved the stall call against Ryan Jack. Called for "regular stalling" because he was trying to manipulate the 5 count rule.
  25. and much less so than J'Den Cox
