  1. Even if the highest he wrestled was 220, he still would have had to weigh over 182
  2. Gotcha. For some reason I was thinking that he never actually attended Iowa but I see that he did
  3. Well they won’t have any close duals with their starting lineup, so…
  4. Also odd because wasn’t there just a thread where someone said “when was the last time you heard of a wrestler being academically ineligible?” Guess they jinxed it. Hopefully Henson gets his grades back on track
  5. If he wrestled HWT he would’ve had to weigh at least 195.1 that day (they had a 220 class right?)
  6. FWIW the only D1 starter he’s beaten so far this year is the guy from Sacred Heart. Seems like a low bar for athlete of the week.
  7. Yeah when that episode first came out I tried to find any discussion of it for other sports, but no luck.
  8. It was tongue in cheek, but I’d also say that the ones that post on the message board generally aren’t the ones that think wrestling was invented in 2010
  9. The people that think wrestling was invented in 2010 probably don’t even know CKLV is happening
  10. Conference athlete of the week while not being eligible to compete? That's gotta be a first
  11. Agreed. I imagine he may not have been super thrilled that Nickal didn't wrestle longer, but probably better to have him training MMA in State College than wrestling somewhere else.
  12. Well I think there's a difference between "helping guys become MMA fighters" and "practicing striking during PSU practices." I mean there's also an MMA gym in the same parking lot as Taylor's M2 building...I bet Cael's been in there.
  13. Nickal and Cassar train at NLWC pretty regularly it seems.
  14. Did you have your friends over for Super 32?
  15. Is he implying Lewis died?
  16. What does that even mean?
  17. Agree. They need to make the outside of mats bigger first so guys can actually finish takedowns while they still have part of their body in bounds and not hitting the gym floor.
  18. They don’t watch because the allegiances are more to schools than the wrestlers
  19. I almost said no chance when I wrote that, but after seeing Vito lose to Crookham, never say never.
  20. Both? I know it’s not a religious school, but the name sounds like it should be. If they changed it, seems like they realized it
  21. Still so confusing that "St. Paris Graham" is a public school...
  22. I think it's a little bit of both. There are few guys capable of winning a title as a freshman (if ever of course). Even guys like Zain and Nick Lee likely could have benefitted from a redshirt from the wrestling-standpoint. I'm sure Arnold thinks he can, but let's be honest, super slim chance he beats Starocci. Seems like there's at least a 50/50 chance Starocci is not back next year. Lewis and Griffith are done as well. If his goal is 4 titles, he should probably redshirt this year.
  23. Ha, maybe. The weird thing to me is he said he didn't know he was wrestling 184 until Tom told him the day before. Does this tweet/post mean that if Tom says he's doing it again he'll say no?
  24. He's not wrestling 157 this year with Franek there. Maybe next year. Would be kinda crazy if he ends up wrestling 184 this year then 157 next.
  25. It's encouraging more scoring. 4 > 3 so if guys are good on top they will still be going for turns.
