I recall mentioning the Iranian Group were camped out over on the Indianamat.com forum earlier... they seem to be doing very well there. D3

IWB... I was stationed @ MCAS Futenma in Okinawa from May 1978 to May 1979. Beside getting the daily results of the seasonal sumo tournaments in the Stars & Stripes sport section, the locals that run air station barber shops would have the sumo tournaments playing on their portable B&W TV's. Remebered the Yokozunas at the time... Kitanoumi, Wakanohama, Mienoumi, and the Great Wajima. Plus the Hawaiian , Jesse Kuhaulua aka Takamiyama Daigorō w/the highest ranking of sekiwake. Sumo during my tour in Okinawa left quite an impression on me, to say at least. Didn't follow it much afterwards, other an occasional ESPN2 showing of a tournament. D3

Dualing for Beavers... uh, Oregon State Beavers. D3

Some say he's like a miniature Doberman when coaching. I do not know if that's to be true... though I've seen him to be, uh, energetic in the corner for the Princeton grapplers. D3

If I had my druthers, I druther that any russian wrestlers be banned from these games, w/ or w/o the russian flag. There are those in the camp, if you want to be the best, you would have to wrestle the best. Other wise you would have that proverbial asterisk next to the gold medalist 0f '23. Let 'em wrestle! With all of russia's transgressions of athletes getting caught w/illegal dope in their bodies... or getting banned because Putti-pute bullied his way into Ukraine and bombing the hell out of the Ukraine people. Tough lollipops... you don't get to wrestle. That's the price you pay. Sad to say... UWW leaned toward participation w/o the flag. So they can't participate in the team scoring, or get on the podium w/o their national anthem playing? (Woop-tee-doo, they may have the lionshare of the medals just the same... they can live w/that.) D3

All this is insane... please stop the insanity... please? (The World Wrestling Championships is coming up soon... better to focus there? Yes? ) D3
