  1. Let me try some imagery re-scripting of Temple Owls for you... you're welcome.
  2. Idaho

    UNC

Coach Hallahan can do it all - he's my first choice. Just needs to change the singlet to blue. .
  3. Seems logical... with Esposito out and the rumors swirling of Smith's exit...it seems logical to hire his replacement as the assistant for a year to transition.
  4. As a side note Kade Orr was involved in a terrible rock slide accident... he is doing a little better. Not sure what this wrestling season will look like for him. https://www.gofundme.com/f/kade-orrs-recovery?member=28791795&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_content=undefined&utm_medium=copy_link_all&utm_source=customer&utm_term=undefined
  5. Boise State .... Top 10 team for several years...started the year #2 when Kirk White, Kirk Smith, Hochstrasser, etc. were there. Several national champs - White, Cherrington, etc. AD sent an assistant to the wrestling room while they had recruits on campus in the room to let Mendoza know the program was cut. Admin would not even have a meeting or accept any deal to self fund the program....they wanted baseball.... which folded before even getting started.
  6. I agree with that assessment.... He needs a year in the room to develop. Rogers at 184 is definitely his best weight.
  7. impressive! Record shattering performance Do think Walters will start as a true freshman?
  8. Can you add your R12 guys? I just want to see how my team is doing so far.
  9. Good idea - Too bad we couldn't' get some of these professional athletes to put together a fundraiser of sorts for a good cause in wrestling - there are quite a few of them with wrestling backgrounds, especially in the NFL. Would be fun to see - but I am sure their teams and unions would have none of that due to potential injury.
  10. I'm going with Steiber in the lower-middle weight class. He's not as far removed from his competitive career as many of the guys mentioned.
  11. Yes ... technically that could happen. Added to this before the clock started could be a gray shirt, being held back in middle school to gain a year of experience for high school and a religious mission. By following the guidelines and "rules' it could be possible to have a 31 year old senior. Even though I don't think that will happen, it is within the rules.
  12. Yep I agree....I would "assume" the conversations took place before his transfer, which is why I think a move to 133 would be an after the fact move. I am not in the know if the Spratley move was only weight.
  13. 4x AA and a runner-up finish is a great career. I would think of him as a Tiger before a Hawkeye. Similar to this situation, I will always regard Griffith as a Stanford Tree and Truax a Cal Poly Mustang, even if he wins a title this. year. Desanto will always be a Hawkeye - 1 year at Drexel then transfers and becomes a 4x AA for Iowa...there is no doubt he is a Hawkeye. In the end, Eirman is not an Iowa legend. He's like many guys now who have transferred for their final year and successfully filled a need on a competitive team.
  14. I am pretty sure that the plan is to keep Kaylor at 125 and Whisenhunt at 133. I am not sure how big Maximo is if he would be the one to go up to 133 to challenge.
  15. I think it will run through 25-26 with the first group that got the free year.
  16. Yep... I like him battling in the room with BK (kaylor). It's going to make them both better.
  17. No... big difference between being there 4 years and being there 1 year.
  18. Maximo Renteria to Oregon State
  19. Hmmmm....looks like as of yesterday the criminal investigations are not over as 4 ISU football players and 3 Iowa football players are bing charged.
  20. Wrestled….. and still famous for being from Illinois.
  21. Yep - in the early 1900's it had a different name - PCC I think it was called where they played random teams from the East. I think the Pac vs Big10 era started in the 40's and continued on. Both leagues have had slightly different names. But I don't recall reading or ever hearing of a Big 8 vs Pac tradition in the Rose Bowl.
  22. He wrestles with outfit and hair choices daily bro.
  23. You really missed the boat when you left out probably the most famous person from Illinois.... Juice Wrld.
  24. Yep - that's why it's in parenthesis.... the other years are freestyle. 4x they won Jr. Freestyle and Cadet freestyle the same year. When did Big Boards start? I don't remember that being a big thing back in 2010 ish.
