He looked pretty decent at the NCAA... At 6'2 I won't be surprised if he is at 197 in two years. A fly under the radar guy with some great funk and potential.
There seem to be more donors for a college program than senior level. The known concern has been that donors are giving more toward NIL or transferring their giving to NIL rather than the general sports budget.
Which is why he is good for the fans and college wrestling.
Having something to prove is not necessarily the deciding factor. NIL deals can have a pretty good influence on decision making. Especially deals that may allow you to train into the future towards gold medals.
Too many holes in the lineup, but a lot of points when they get to the NCAA.
Not sure I believe in their recruiting strategy to have multiple AA candidates at the same weight, but enormous holes other places in the lineup. ASU is a team that would really benefit from the portal, but so far it's been pretty average for them. They don't seem to be plugging holes yet.
Yeah Valencia up at 86kg makes me think he is not going to see 174 again. My guess is that both are moving up and Fagen is the odd man out. The ASU guys on here might have a better take.
Great move... Cornell to Stanford...can't beat that. A reunion of sorts... wonder who might be next year to make that same move.
Pac 12 125 should be a decent group this year... Kaylor, Figs, Lajoie,
Wrestlers who sacrifice to serve our country... Army, Navy Air Force teams ... wrestlers who lost their lives... Thank you for your service.
P.S. Don't care if you don't like Minnow - it's irrelevant.
Would you rather:
A) wrestle for PSU for 4-5 years and get 3-4 starts over the years because of an injury or the starter sitting out.
OR
B) wrestle for mid level team, start all 4 years and have a shot at being an AA
I don't think that McHenry would use the rest of his eligibility at PSU if he didn't think he could start. He's either going to beat Howard outright for the spot or he is a very good plan B in case of an injury.
A few starters in there and a few room guys. A lot of D1 guys coming out of the class of 23 and 24.
WAY TO GO IDAHO!
