  1. Homegrown is still a thing... but not as much of a thing as it used to be. With the amount of travel these kids do with wrestling they are able to see schools, meet people, go to camps under coaches, etc. A lot kids do not want to stay home no matter what, so it's not always an indication of the program.
  2. Anyone surprised by who DIDN"T enter the portal? I thought Sean Harman might enter from Missouri with Hawks and Whiting there.
  3. He should be trying to run down Sasso and Coy.
  4. I think Darracott heads up to 165 - He did wrestle 57 and 65 his freshman year. However he runs into Hunter Garvin at 165, who will also be a very tough out. Garvin had some mixed results as a true freshman, but he wrestled Griffith and Calindo pretty close. There is a possibility that Cardenas could take a redshirt. Whatever the case - Stanford will have some depth there.
  5. No worries - I agree - the potential is there - Chance and Legend will give them tough matches. I agree also that Legend looked small and I think he would be much better at 157. Wick seemed bigger and I could see him putting on size. You are right about Daschle - I think he is better suited at 174, but If Rowley does end up at Poly then Daschle will go 184. He has the frame for it and those Lamers keep growing. Crazy to think that Cal Poly could have 3 Lamers and 4 Crecent Valley HS kids in their starting lineup if they get Rowley. Pac 12 needs to replace the firepower of Griffith, Woods, Truax, etc.
  6. How do you know how close I will think it will be? I just said that Parco and Teemer will win those matches. I think they will be close matches and I actually would like to see them win those matches. However, right now, the edge goes to the multiple AA's Parco and Teemer. Cal Poly will be solid again - but it's a stretch to say they have the best 149-184 in the Pac12. As a side note, are you saying Wick and Legend are switching places in the lineup? I had not heard that, but I think it makes sense.
  7. Did they also score Rowley? Didnt' see that announced. I don't think those 5 beat the ASU 5 through those weights. Parco, Teemer and Montalvo with wins, Rowley a slight favorite depending on which Valencia shows up. Wick definitely wins.
  8. Is that Instagram? I don’t see anything on the cal poly Twitter or Lamers.
  9. Merril was out a lot of last season.... More recent pictures show him wrestling with the padded head gear.
  10. Gilroy has a few kids that can bring it. Love that team.
  11. When Jamison techs you (almost exactly 1 year ago) there is probably some fire there with the smoke.
  12. Insert “Cody Chittum Grad year” jokes here.
  13. I'm guessing his hire to the staff will focus on that group... guessing.
  14. Good to see Obe Blanc get the job at NSDU - very deserving and he will provide a nice transition. Good move... They should send their "How to Hire a Head Coach" powerpoint to OU.
  15. Kevin O'neil pinned him in the semis https://wiaa.com/ConDocs/Con1208/3Aplacers05.htm
  16. Might have been Nathan Decker - I thought Kirk White but that would have been too early. Washington has a pretty extensive website - Washington wrestling report - you could look there.
  17. With the pressure that is being put on this kid to be the next coming of Spencer Lee, I hope he doesn't Chittumself.
  18. The end around would be to not enroll ... take a grey shirt year at an RTC then go to the school of your choice. Not the best plan if you were not planning on doing that, however it may be the only course of action rather than to be forced to wrestle and use your redshirt.
  19. Well with this administration, regards are the only thing you will have left to give.
  20. Just because you are hurting doesn't mean you have to hurt me.
  21. Lamer portal is surprising.... I don't recall Michigan recruiting over him???? He had a good season at 149 and seems to be an important pieced to their future.
