  1. Sinclair has won too many matches between trials and both opens to not be on a team. Brutal sport sometimes.
  2. Might be hearsay but academics could be an issue
  3. 2-3 depending on if we count silent commits that got swooped before they announced. James hurt, the other two weren't the best guys coming in at their projected weight
  4. Lack of training partners has become a very common excuse for guys who aren't intrinsically motivated enough to reach their goals. Joey Blaze doesn't seem to have that problem
  5. If they weren't grandfathered in you take Cunningham's kids/Perry and have them wrestle club bc they don't need any scholarship money, can still train with the team, and aren't in the two deep any time soon. Cochran is a senior and Mirasola is just as good with a lot more eligibility so that could open up a roster spot
  6. Davis, Nagao, Cunningham, Cunningham, Perry and Cochran all could be cut for one reason or another
  7. Having a bit of trouble following but I get the general idea. So did Aaron Brooks or Kyle Snyder kill 5 hookers in Paris?
  8. Carr/Takatani was at 76kg as well right? Could definitely see 74 being tough for him
  9. Even if you don't want to be ramping up your veteran guys this early it's a perfect event to get backups some reps and use one of the 5 dates with your freshman to get multiple quality matches and see how they do in an actual match. If they joined and didn't use their best lineup that makes sense, but there is no justification for not attending at all IMO.
  10. Oh yeah, religion and politics in the same thread? This is my kind of party, let's do this!
  11. Sounds like VT can go ahead and slot in Bullock at 184. Another one for Jawn Cena.
  12. Agreed, their backups could be competitive. Teams can't do everything, Midlands used to be fun CKLV is always great and now the entire sport is budgeting to send a squad to this event and it seems like they're turning their nose up at it
  13. That's fair I went to a catholic high school and did not contribute
  14. Uh the school has a benedictine abbey on site. There are plenty of reasons for a non catholic to go to a catholic school but it's not just a catholic school for nostalgia, that place literally houses a bunch of monks. It's as Catholic as they come.
  15. I want to see Zahid vs. Dake go three and see how Zahid's gas tank holds up. If he can wrestle a full 6 minutes in a given match he's our best chance at an 86kg medalist.
  16. What would happen if somebody won the Open and got hurt training two weeks later? Would they be able to opt out and decline the bid?
  17. When somebody asks you about a wrestling match in a public forum and you start quoting scripture avoiding the actual question you're snubbing all of those people that helped you
  18. Not recognizing the people who do care and dedicate their life to helping you reach your goals is still wrong
  19. Not everybody. I'm fine if you want to thank God for helping you, it makes sense, wrestling is a tough sport and if you believe in a higher power that can hep you through the tough times. However, nobody is getting through those tough times without great coaches, mentors, partners, trainers, doctors, dieticians, etc. I have no problem with a guy like Wyatt who wears a Jesus Trained shirt, praises God but also recognizes his coaches and teammates at both Air Force and Ok State. I want a look into the sport as a whole not just one part. Obviously faith is important to these guys but let's be real - Jesus doesn't care who wins but the guys in your corner damn sure do.
  20. Don't think my bag of cash theory was correct. Good get for the Gophers though.
  21. Clearly Matthew didn't understand how important it would eventually be to sell "JESUS TRAINED" t shirts
  22. Pure speculation but my guess on Dekraker is someone lost the Raney sweepstakes and now has an unexpected bag of cash sitting around and a need at 141
  23. You haven't lived until you're with a group of people with political/religious disagreements at a social event/bar/restaurant and right before you leave just gently bring up a hot button issue and go on your way.
  24. Thought I saw he's still training somewhat recently. I think he's trying to make one more run at it in 2028, this early in the quad making the world team at 79kg doesn't do much if 2028 is his only goal.
  25. Lewan had beaten Bryce pretty handily the last time they wrestled as well. Duke is definitely the favorite based on last time and how he looked today but this is the best Bryce has looked at the senior FS level as well
