VT's ACC slate today includes UNC, Stanford, Pitt, and obviously NCSU. Those will all get eyeballs on campus. You miss out on the B1G tourney but VT aside from conferences will be at all of the big national events and have some good OOC duals as well. VT actually finished 9th in average dual meet attendance last year, one spot behind Nebraska by about 3-400 people.

That guys a decent poster, no insider but he doesn't just throw stuff out there so if he posted that he heard it somewhere. Mole also mentioned the staff felt like they were in a good spot at Elite 8 duals. We always do well with visitors so having the last one might come into play. Side note: Rothermel was on campus as well and loved it, would be surprised if he went elsewhere.

From what I gather reading the tea leaves. Lightly, they'd take his commitment but aren't pushing too hard. Nebraska and VT are both pushing hard.

It's not Stillwater but Bassett as a primary training partner is not just some high schooler. He can also clearly spend time in Stillwater as necessary.

I noticed Bucknell had a very talented group of PA guys come through this weekend. VT had a few guys but their big weekend was two weeks ago when the wrestling team was honored at halftime for winning the ACC. Paul Kenny headlined a top notch group including Singer, Zalota, and a few more I believe. I expect one more big weekend at least. Hopefully Amato and Melvin Miller make it for an OV.

Forrest still has guys in his area to train with on a daily basis that can make him better. Basically comes down to if he wants to enjoy his senior year of HS or is he ready to live in a college room where wrestling is a full time job. McCort kinda gives him the best of both worlds IMO. There are guys to train with that can push him, and it's not like going to Stillwater full time will allow him to start competing in college earlier. Duke I would guess him vs. Kasak and loser RS? I don't see either challenging Messenbrink.

Yes. VT got dropped off of an internet graphic at one point but in reality they've always been in the mix while he's been uncommitted. Ohio State was almost in his top group originally and sounds like they're back in the picture to some degree. Regarding development VT also has Andonian through 28 at 74kg so Henson, Bryce, and Seidel is a pretty solid group to train with.

Looking as good as he has at 70kg especially with a few 2 day weigh ins in there I think an extra 3 pounds and he'll be fine for a college season.

There's already contact being made before June 15 under the table, and a lot of OV's are happening during September/October. Now we move evaluations back, the big schools still get who they want but the kid who was fringe big 10 now has to wait until the last second to decide on UT Chattanooga or whoever and those schools end up in a tough spot with very little time to know who they can take. Trickle down effect would hurt IMO. The answer should be like any other sport and keep recruiting the kid after a kid commits to reduce de-commitments.

Yeah, it was very evident in both matches that each of them were hesitant. Both SV one TD matches I think.

I'm with you. I was pretty neutral on the kid until he talked about VT in his final schools but seeing the hate he gets has pushed me towards defending him and ultimately rooting for him to do well even before that. It's especially weird when you have people celebrating a loss when he's repping team USA.

I just hope Jax doesn't have to miss homecoming for some dumb wrestling tournament
