Its not like it was 20 years ago for sure.

Not much D1 overlap between divisions anymore with the lower levels not counting towards D1 RPI. The last two D2 wrestlers that really had success against D1s were both HWTs Dlagnev and Sigman. I remember talking to Conrad once after he had lost to Sigman earlier in the season and asked how Les would do at D1s his response was not as good as Midlands because we would all have tape on him and be prepared

Not sure if there is enough crossover any more. D1s don't want to wrestle 2s & 3s since those matches don't count on RPI. We used to top teir D2s and 3s at Midlands and Vegas and DIs used to go to.the big opens like CMSU and Omaha but not so so much nowadays

If you want to win the D1 championship, go to a D1 school and enjoy the D1 grind and follow the D1 eligibility standards

So why is there only one athlete involved? How about all the other conference wrestlers the same age? They just didnt qualify for NCAA? was the 2020 Pac tourney wrestled then the shutdown? What are you trying to say? The athlete in question did not compete the free short season therefore he doesn't have the 5th year available

If you remember as I do, the free year was to assure participation in the Jan to Mar short season. The NCAA thought that if they offers up a free year, most kids would participate. Nobody knew what the Virus was gonna do to sports and if the season would be completed or not. Many kids did not want to participate and burn a year and have the season cut short like the year before. The NCAA offered this solution and we had a championship. If the virus would have ended the season early(again), it wouldn't have counted against the athletes

Boring!?!?!?!?!! Not at all. He makes it interesting because his wins are never guaranteed!!!! Losses are rarely less than a takedown away!!!

I hate the fact that he coaches while reffing. Let the kids wrestle as they want and penalize and award points when warranted!

I don't see the fans filling the arena for national national duals. Never really did before.

Not bagging on the "kids". I'm bagging (whatever that means) on those who thought having kids broadcast to the world was a great idea I pay for BIG 10 Plus and expect better. Not knowing rules. Slow to put scores on screen. No riding time on screen. Cameras not following the action. Its all BS The whole crappy streaming is another issue all together that has been discussed here a bunch.

From Big 10+ using kids with no clue regarding wrestling rules to seasoned broadcasters (Tim Johnson) not knowing tie breaking criteria. Streaming issues with several outlets is always an issue. Big 10 + shows scores with no riding time. We need to demand better ! How do we hold their collective feet to the fire?

Many AF Academy grads go to grad school prior to active duty. This one was weird because he still had eligibility available.

Buckshot, I agree wit you 100% regarding making it hard to watch! Every article written about upcoming events should include date and time of said event! Flo and Track should include in their dashboards when each session of tournaments starts and which round will be wrestled which session. One shouldn't need to be logged on to their device to be able to determine if the semis are tonight or first thing in the morning when sitting in the gym! My big pet peeve is the stream for events not starting until moments before the whistle blows! No.way to.tell if you have jumped through the right hoops to log in to watch and by the time you figure it out, 3 matches have been wrestled.

College wrestling has issues and these two burn my butt! I travelled to Nashville to watch the duals and spent good money for tickets, gas and lodging. The hosts decided that programs were not needed for this event. The friend I was with didn't have a working knowledge of the teams or the athletes and had no way to get a handle on the competitors or what the expectations should be. Piss poor! Especially for the cost of the tix! 1/2 of the gym did not have the ability to see the team score! The only score boards with the team score faced only 1/2 of the gym. I wrote the folks at Journeyman about these issues and their answer was to follow along on Tournaflex.com. What a crock! Wrestling is its own worst enemy!

Why doesn't each wrestler have a backup pair of head gear? Too many time I see coaches scrambling to find a headgear that fits during matches after breakage.
