  1. That is a great point. If the wrestler is hanging on to an ankle looking for a stalemate, is that not a stall? It clearly is as the wrestler is not looking to engage in action.
  2. Zain 5.56 dominance score is insane. Dude was such a hammer on top.
  3. Minor doesn’t have connections to Iowas program lol
  4. Jackrabbits were hard after him out of high school if I remember correctly.
  5. From what I am hearing Swenson will be back at 157 more than likely.
  6. If Iowas team transferred to penn state and penn states team transferred to Iowa then Iowa would be the favorite.
  7. Cael Larson won a D2 title for Augustana this year.
  8. My guys Cael Swenson should be mentioned. 2x NQ for SDSU with two years left.
  9. Chris Phillips is always brought up as a "what if". Jesse Thielke (had Greco aspirations), Destin McCauley, John Meeks, Ben Whitford, Brooks Black, Lance Benick, Chase Singletary, Gavin Teasdale, Joey Silva were hammers in HS that never AA'd at the D1 level. Hopefully Braxton Amos can get healthy and finish his career strong next year so he does not end up on this list.
  10. Well okay then..
  11. Ridge Lovett would be on my list without the anime pose lol
  12. 125 - Caleb Smith - Seems like the best teammate. Always the first to celebrate with his guys 133- Nic Bouzakis - Feel for the guy with the loss of his brother 141- Brock Hardy - Fun style of wrestling and good ambassador for the sport 149- Ethan Stiles - Complete wild man 157- Brandon Cannon - Great story coming back from cancer to compete at a high level 165- Peyton Hall - Seems like a great guy 174- Cade DeVos - Great leader and teammate. Always impressed that he is able to juggle pharmacy doctorate program and D1 wrestling 184- Parker Keckeisen - Probably the easiest guy to pick on the list. Always offensive on the mat and great outlook on life off the mat. 197- Stephe Buchanan - Very humble and grounded young man 285- Wyatt Hendrickson - How can you not pick him after beating Gable?? HM for me are KOT, Dustin Plott, Josh Barr, Ryder Downey, Caleb Henson, Bennet Berge
  13. I wonder if there will be any sanctions against Little Rock for the Brennan situation...
  14. @nhs67 Not heard much about Cobe coming back but there is potential for Glazier to seek a medical year. We will see.
  15. I don’t know how I missed Drake Rhodes but he will be in the mix at 165/174 also. 174 is an unknown at this point so will be interesting to see what happens.
  16. Have not heard anything about Cobe with a medical redshirt. I will do some checking and get back to you.
  17. My best guess at SDSU 125- Brady Roark / Carson Dupill 133- Derrick Cardinal / Logan Swensen 141- Julian Tagg 149- Tyson Peach / Alek Martin / Avery Allen 157- Cael Swensen / Moses Espinoza-Owens 165- Cael Swensen / Marcus Espinoza-Owens 174- Burke Blasius / Keenan Sheridan 184- Bennett Berge 197- Brock Fettig / Thomas Dineen 285- Luke Rasmussen / Micah Hach
  18. Jamison needs to go up to 149. He gets progressively worse throughout the season because the weight cut is brutal for him. And Cael Hughes was a shell of himself at 133 so he needs to move up as well and would slot nicely into 141.
  19. Stay away from Berge. But in all honesty his brother is on staff at SDSU and is running a nice club program in SD. I think Berge will be an SDSU guy through and through.
  20. He certainly has the frame to put on size and the talent to be a great wrestler.
  21. I could see Ziola growing into heavyweight eventually but he would get ragdolled by college heavyweights with his current size. Ben Kueter would look like Brock Lesnar standing next to him.
  22. How about Gunderson at 184?
  23. I will keep beating the drum for the challenge/review process to be amended or abolished. There are too many example of "lung bricks" (i.e. the Taylor/Blaze match last night). Conditioning is so vital in a sport like wrestling that these reviews need to few and far between. Here is the solution. Step 1- No more referee initiated reviews. I bet at least 25% of the reviews that take place are referees reviewing their own calls. Make the call on the mat and stick with it. Consult with the other ref if needed and move on. If the coaching staff feels like the referee made the wrong call then they can challenge it. Step 2- 1 Point for failed challenge.
