I agree completely. I also happen to think Starocci is 100%. When he left the mat at the end of teching that kid from Edinboro he looked pretty good to me and didn't seem to be limping much, if any. I think Cael held him out of B10s just to be sure he was good for NCAAs, and I think he's going to roll through the bracket no matter what he's seeded. I do feel a little sorry for Mekhi, the #1 seed, having to face him so early.

Cormier? Is he a pretty good commentator? I'm surprised they couldn't get Dake or Taylor.

I'm not so sure Starocci at 75% could beat Mekhi, but he can probably beat anybody else at 75%.

What's the story with Mauller? He's never seemed to improve at Mizzou. Has he been hampered with injury issues, or did he basically peak his FR year at Mizzou? If so he must've had a helluva HS coach.

Bastida is quicker and I think has better stuff offensively. He's strong enough to hang with strong heavies without getting thrown around, and quick enough to get some points either on offense or defense. Kerk is a good HWT, and it's basically his turn to be HWT champ, but he's never wrestled Bastida before. I don't think Bastida has the power to pin Kerk or bully him around out there, but I think it's very possible he gets an easy go around for 3 points or comes out on top in a scramble. Kerkvliet has always looked a bit clumsy to me when compared to the more nimble guys like Davison. But he is coached by Cael and is a tank with pretty good basic technique. It's going to be awesome to watch. That's all assuming Bastida and Kerk make it to the finals, obviously. Maybe they'll be wrestling in the consolation finals

I'm tempted to go with Bastida over Kerkvliet. I think Bastida is the better wrestler, the question is whether he can compensate for Kerkvliet's power.
