    Listen to Daniel Cormier’s comment during the 157 championship match. While we all watched Teemer not even break a sweat, he accurately said how those ASU guys know how to back up and play the game. Nailed that one for sure.

    There is no real way to answer that, but watching him vs Aaron Brooks in practice would go a long way in my opinion.

    If anyone remembers back to Mark Hall and Zahid Valencia in their sophomore years? Hall was the defending champion and undefeated Big10 champion, but got ranked and seeded behind Valencia who was 3rd in the NCAA the previous year, and the undefeated PAC 10 champion. The only difference was Valencia won the All Star match up.

    Stevenson is not getting a paycheck from anywhere else. It doesn’t have to be a ton when it’s all you are getting.

    Just wondering. I know Kasak went thru concussion protocol, but I am wondering if PSU is just trying protect his laceration. When the match against Cannon was stopped for a few seconds, he reached right for the spot of the laceration.

    Compared to what. You mean winning by only 60 points, not 100. This team has the best chance of 10AA of any of Cael’s teams.

    Wait!! He is 19, and then going to do a gray shirt. So he is going to be a 21yo freshman!!! Are you kidding me?

    Ok. If he is an engineering major, maybe he goes to Michigan for grad school. Of course we all know how hesitant Bormet is to bring in transfers.

    I know all about could’ve, should’ve, would’ve, but if Cassar doesn’t get hurt in 2020, we could be looking at a PSU win streak of 130 or 140.

    Why is everybody forgetting that PSU peaks in March better than any other team, and has for 10 years. 5 finalists, 4 champs, 9 AA.

    Buchanan is clearly the favorite, but don’t forget, if Barr rides him for 5 more seconds, there’s no riding time and Barr doesn’t have to force a last minute takedown. Maybe it goes to SV, and then all bets are off. Think Starocci vs Kemerer.

    Let’s see, Messenbrink beats Caliendo, Haines beats Arnold, Barr and Angelo are a toss up, maybe I give you AJ (if he is really at Iowa) and right now I bet Mirasola and Kueter are a toss up. Not to mention that PSU will have 4 starters ( 125, 133, 149, and 157) from this years team still hanging around.

    I have only seen Ferrari once, but have seen Arnold 6x. Neither one of them shows any great offensive abilities. Arnold goes to SV every match at 1-1. He only beat Rogotzke because the buckeye threw a pretty inadvisable Greco move. You can keep a match close, and look pretty good if you can hide your stalling. But you can’t stall your way thru NCAA’s and contend for a title. Just ask Alex Marinelli.

    PSU only has to replace 3 kids, and yes, they are all finalists/champions, but their replacements probably already know who they are. So, not too worried about the portal hurting PSU. And who knows, they might actually pick up somebody.

    I know American at Penn State is Sr night, but I would just intro the Sr’s and let the 2nd team wrestle the meet. They would still win. Carter Starrocci agrees with me.

    Let’s see, he lost to a 5th year Sr in the last 20 seconds, and he got caught. Lots of wrestlers get caught all the time, Nickal, Brooks, Lee, ( those 3 only have 10 Natty’s among them). Anybody who was predicting a national championship are as blind as those who foresee a crash and burn. It’s all who wrestles the best in March.

    I would pay real money to see Mesenbrink vs Barraclough. I’ve never seen a Penn State practice live.

    A couple years ago, Zain Retherford spent about 25 minutes on the mat winning NCAA’s his Jr year. 3 tech’s, a fall, and an md. I would love to see if MM could spend less time winning this year. That might be a good over/under bet.

    Bo Nickal was upset by a kid from IU his freshman year (name?). Subsequent matches were never close, but it did give the announcers something to talk about for 4 years. Pretty much the same with Washington.

    Where the hell is Iowa, or any school for that matter, getting a half a million dollars to give to one player on one team. This is beyond bizarre.

    Only seen Teemer 2-3 times, but he seems to be a total counter wrestler. Haines didn’t make any mistakes in March, and Kasak didn’t make any tonite. Not sure if Teemer knows what to do if not given an obvious opening. Just saying…
