  1. This is going to be quite the opposite - it's going to be a positive for both parties. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.
  2. That's not your typical HS junior. He might be repping on the senior level real soon. Like, soon-soon. It's a good problem for the US to finally have firepower and depth at the lower weights again.
  3. Pro tip: don't wear Packers gear
  4. I literally could not care less about folkstyle results surrounding an injured world champ/2x medalist. But a quick refresher of what happened the last time Vito wrestled Crookham and he turned the treadmill off
  5. Spencer Lee vs present day Vito. The last time they met Vito wasn't his final form and this would be fun to watch + see where they stand against each other today, especially since Vito is unlikely to ever attempt 57 again.
  6. Can you bring back PabloLikesToWrestle asking about the best greco shoes please? That was my favorite burner
  7. Luckily I'm atheist because I'm rooting for AC/JC
  8. Ferrari is a mid-AA candidate. Just like this topic. Mid. Mid AF. If it were a Christmas tournament they would call it the Midlands because its' best days are in the past.
  9. Some say it's because Messenbrink has a canine bloodlust for My Girl
  10. That goon-ness has given him Gorarrians and a u23 world title on a torn knee. It put him six inches out of bounds from teching the eventual senior world bronze medalist. I hate that I'm making this comparison for so many reasons but... What is the difference between Hendrickson and Messenbrink's styles?
  11. The only people saying Lee was going to hang it up are haters. Only a person as tough as, well, Spencer Lee could bounce back from everything he has been through physically and emotionally. Dude is tougher than hell and I don't care what any results are and how many ACLs he tears, I'm picking him to win 2025 worlds. He's going to be a DAWG next September.
  12. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a nice Christmas. But I'll be damned Santa Flo thinks we all deserve a lump of coal in our stocking every time they broadcast an event
  13. Sounds great, what happens when the feed cuts?
  14. Kerk is not in the conversation Unless this thread is renamed "Does Kerk win silver or bronze?"
  15. I have no idea what he meant by "goon" that was an asinine statement. Hendrickson has great technique for any weight class, but he is not as fast as Steveson or strong as Kerk and cannot overcome what they bring to the table. It's not a slight against him and I think if he chooses, he would be an amazing technical coach one day. He will hopefully always be remembered in the annual "best to never win an NCAA title" thread because he is the real deal who happened to be born at the same time as some other world-level buzzsaws. Steveson is quick as a cat and has the cleanest go-behind in a long time. He's also strong as an ox with amazing balance. Very great technique paired with elite match intelligence and the above is what separates him into the best in the world.
  16. Steveson is vulnerable to the following: 1) Trying to be flashy with a double unders inside trip 2) His coach weighing the current match and not challenging for 4 amplitude when the Olympic gold medal match is well under control 3) gut wrenches. Hendrickson could possibly execute but he has to find a way to be on top in a freestyle match. Not easy considering their last freestyle results.
  17. And I thought my hot takes were bad. Hendrickson is not strong enough to overcome Kerk through his superior technique. I thought he was, and I was very wrong. Hendrickson's technique is better than Steveson's overall toolbox. But his bread and butter from feet plays right into Steveson's superior bread and butter. He is not able to overpower Steveson when riding him and therefore won't get the stick which would be his leveling factor. Steveson lets Kerk do the Kerk stall every time they wrestle. He's superior in every facet from match prep to in-match intelligence to technique, might not be stronger anymore but certainly strong enough to weather anything Kerk can cobble together one move at a time. I'll take the former Olympic gold medalist over the guy who couldn't get past present-day domestic gatekeeper Gwiz at OTTs last year. And Gwiz didn't get past Zillmer who got handily beat by Parris, and we all know what happened last time Gable came off the street to wrestle Parris. So sure I guess there is a chance if Gable tears something. But I wouldn't root for that chance.
  18. That's not quite accurate as for the reason for all the slipping and sliding on a slick mat. Most people don't know this, but the '93 games a little boy was asked to volunteer to unroll some mats at the world championships because one of the volunteers called in sick and they needed any help they could get. So they plucked a kid out of the stands who was on vacation and it was that day that the kid fell in love with the sport of wrestling. That boy's name? J'Den Cox
  19. Now there's a reddit thread i wish i never remembered
  20. When you say "according to Mineo" I think it's because you put down the beer a while ago and poured yourself a bourbon or six
  21. Actually it elblows
  22. Other way around. He was shown the door.
