Al Davis let him finish the baseball season and then report in September or October. Deion was much better in football, because he skipped baseball in some years. Bo didn't have a good start, because he refused to play football after the Buccaneers tanked his college baseball season, and spent the next few years playing baseball out of spite. He only played for the Raiders because Al Davis let him play baseball and didn't put any restrictions on what he could do. That he was able to be an elite player in both sports early on, and was just getting started, that shows how good he was. One of the MLB scouts who watched him in college said the only thing he needed was to play more baseball and the rest would figure itself out. He also ran track at Auburn and was an NCAA qualifier. So he was definitely capable of being great, it was just whether he wanted to be or if he had enough practice. The story for him in high school was he won the decathlon pole vault event, but he had never practiced it before and his high jump record stood for many years, and still might. I know it's high school, but that's pretty impressive for a guy built like that.

I believe it. I forgot where I saw it, but there was a story about how Bo hated to play basketball and would always avoid it or get out of it somehow. Then one day his PE teacher or whoever it was saw him alone in the gym after class and he picked up a ball and completely flat footed dunked it, then just walked away. Anyone who can do that probably doesn't need to lift.

I have friends there. They seemed more annoyed than anything because they had to evacuate and drive up into the interior of the island. I don't think people consider that honestly.

I remember hearing Hal Reynolds talk about when Bo threw him out at home, and how he didn't realize Bo did it, he was mad because he thought he got thrown out by a relay throw.

I was debating about this with a friend of mine today. He thinks that Bo was over hyped and that his legacy is mostly what could have been. I disagree, Bo was an All Star in two major sports at the same time, and there are plenty of people who he played with or against who admit how physically talented he was.

I agree. It should follow a golf or tennis kind of model. That's kind of how it is anyway, with the way UWW has rankings and things. There should be an established tour though, and just have it culminate at Worlds every year.

RPW had a great concept, because they just taped everything quickly. That way they could broadcast it over a long period of time.

I don't see what that has to do with hosting a handful of soccer games. FIFA doing that has to do with Trump not allowing certain fans and certain countries to come here to play.

FIFA may pull the World Cup entirely and just have Canada and Mexico stage it.
