  1. Ukraine isn't anywhere near as poor as Moldova
  2. I think he's too high to care honestly.
  3. I've never liked him.
  4. Jackass was the #1 rated show on MTV at one point.
  5. If I had a choice, I'd pick Beshear. He's a smart common sense kind of guy.
  6. Rogan was a career C lister in the entertainment world. This is a guy who was credited after Andy Dick on a B level sitcom, which was his biggest success to date then. He was the only "celebrity" willing to be part of the UFC when they were barely hanging on, and landed his hosting gig on Fear Factor because of that. If the UFC hadn't become a thing, he would forever be known as the slightly douchy guy who hosted a show where he watched you eat cow testicles. His podcast isn't particularly insightful or informative. It got to be a thing because people associated him with the UFC, which blew up in the mid aughts, and somehow being a commentator for MMA makes you an authority on things. His guests range from people who would starve if somebody didn't remind them to chew, to people who shouldn't be allowed out in public without supervision or off their medication. Occasionally he's going to have an insightful or meaningful guest, but it's overshadowed by the crass stupidity he brings to the table.
  7. He's very very fortunate to have been in the right place at the right time. As far as his podcast, he's an idiot. I don't know why anyone takes anything he says seriously.
  8. Here's a good explanation of what's going on. https://notesfortheperplexed.substack.com/p/the-potemkin-presidency-the-dc-police?r=kjxd5&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&fbclid=IwQ0xDSwMLI2hjbGNrAwsjBWV4dG4DYWVtAjExAAEeSGTjv9s1fEeMwqa2G6P089fo2F4XpOu6H7PDsUBrBq7gOuoDwAhaY87YcsY_aem_FP_rrkJFIkWUh1xUUYJoMQ&triedRedirect=true
  9. Not my first choice, but still miles ahead of the current white house occupant.
  10. You said the country was headed in a certain direction because of the influx of Muslims. Yet Hesgeth is decidedly not Muslim. It sounds like you know something about him that we don't.

  12. Just sharing their rich cultural heritage.
  13. A good explanation of why this thing with DC is a really bad idea. https://www.abc15.com/us-news/trumps-dc-police-maneuver-contradicted-by-crime-statistics?fbclid=IwQ0xDSwMJdyRleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHmJ9afIZ3W5S3tOg4k5SISJQbDXUCAuiswlu4i4ODTmBqvlZ4Yl9re_tSiuz_aem_PFPuq7byFpw5KINWKzug6Q
  14. I think we need to put stronger restrictions on buying guns. I'm not against it, but I would say a solid 25% of people who legally own a gun shouldn't. For various reasons like ones you mentioned. The idea that people should have unfettered access to own a gun in this country is insane. Even the 1st amendment has limits to it. I don't see why the 2nd shouldn't have reasonable limits that would prevent certain people from legally owning a gun.
  15. There's no substitute for live rounds. My wife had never touched a gun until she came to this country, where she's from the process to buy a gun legally would make anyone who believes strongly in the 2A to swear it was a communist plot and cause their head to explode. She practiced at home on the draw frequently and dry firing, and even she said there's a big difference when live ammunition is involved.
  16. You just answered your own question. Most people don't go to the range to fire off rounds to become proficient enough with their weapon to use in a situation where it's needed. She spent over a month learning on a daily basis for work, and has a yearly qualification to meet. Most people aren't going to be trained to shoot like that, but they also don't go to the range often enough to be proficient, and their gun becomes more of a liability than anything. People drastically underestimate guns and overestimate their own abilities to handle one safely.
  17. You won't. If somebody is determined enough to rob or mug you, they will, regardless of whether you're armed. Also most people who own guns aren't proficient enough with them to really do more than intimidate anyway. My wife is at the range at minimum 2x a week. In her words she doesn't think she is a very good shot. You end up in a situation where it's more Bernie Goetz than John Wick.
  18. The Swiss don't have a gun culture that treats guns like toys or fashion accessories like in this country. People here largely don't respect guns. They just see them as toys and don't take them seriously. That's a part of why we have mass shootings so frequently. Guns are instruments of death. The purpose of a gun is to kill. If you don't take that seriously or believe it, that should disqualify you from ever touching a gun.

  20. KFC (now having officially dropped its slave name "Kentucky Fried Chicken") decided in May of 2009 to promote its new grilled chicken by giving it away for free. Wanting to keep their promotion subtle and discreet, they did the announcement on the show of a little-known entertainer named Oprah Winfrey. With a hilariously tragic lack of foresight, KFC underestimated both the all-encompassing influence of Oprah and the subtle racism of using a black spokeswoman to sell chicken. They apparently didn't realize the Mighty O reigns over the kind of media empire previously only seen under the thumb of Richard Dawson in The Running Man, so when she told viewers they could print out a voucher for free lunch at KFC on the May 5th episode of her talk show, America *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me* a rainbow so large it could be seen from space. Approximately 16 million people printed out the Winfrey-approved coupon and showed up at KFCs nationwide to pry their free chicken from Colonel Sanders's cold dead fingers. The fast food chain was overwhelmingly unprepared and ran out of product before lunchtime (evidently their market research suggested that the average citizen doesn't like chicken and hates not having to pay for things). Angry customers in New York, outraged that their demands to complain to Sanders directly were dismissed as both "impossible" and "moronic," responded by starting mini-riots and sit-ins. Managers at some locations maneuvered around the debacle by telling customers they couldn't accept any coupons ending with the serial numbers "1234," which incidentally consisted of every PDF copy of the coupon in existence. KFC also hilariously included the arbitrary restriction that the coupons couldn't be used on Mother's Day, which makes us think their CEO is in some kind of wacky Major League situation where somehow he makes a fortune only if he ruins the franchise. The Backlash: Rival chain, El Pollo Loco, officially turned KFC's grilled chicken cluster***duck** into tender-roasted lovemaking when they announced that they'd accept all six million rejected KFC coupons that coming Sunday (which just happened to be Mother's Day). KFC President Roger Eaton tried to wipe some of the egg off his face (pun completely intended because we're talking about chicken) by issuing a public statement, but the damage had been done--his company sunk a ***duck** ton of money into Oprah only to have their customers scooped up by a rival chicken shack. Generally, this is not part of a good business model.
  21. Once people realize they would have to buy prescriptions on the black market or something that would cause huge uproar.
  22. Still waiting for Mexico to pay for the wall. And the Ukraine war to end.
