  1. The 2 answers: Ralph Hammonds in 1928 Harold Byrd in 1940 Both started at Oklahoma State.
  2. I love your guide! Highly recommend.
  3. I'll give you a hint. They both transferred from the same program and went to HS in the same state.
  4. Correct! You'll have to go back a bit more than that.
  5. In this day and age everyone transfers. That obviously wasn't always the case. Two-part question: 1. Who is the first to AA after transferring? 2. Who is the first to become a National Champion after transferring?
  6. The 3 of those are currently D1 schools. I asked about current non-D1 schools.
  7. The answers were Cornell (IA), Southwestern Oklahoma, Mankato/Slippery Rock. Question - We'll stick with current Non-D1 wrestlers again. Lowell Lange and Carlton Haselrig both won 3 titles attending non-D1 schools. Name the wrestlers that have won 2 titles.
  8. Didn't get a chance to jump on here yesterday so I will do 2 questions today. First: Name the top-3, currently Non-D1, schools with the most AAs.
  9. I'm willing to bet that's the exact thing I read. Thanks!
  10. Ding Ding Ding. Of note with this is that Cornell didn't send a team to the 1948 tournament. Even without the injury he may not have been able to. I can't remember why exactly, but it may have been because of injuries so they decided to rest and wrestle AAU.
  11. Once I get my website up and running you'll have all the info you need!
  12. Davis was 7th and Zalesky was 5th as FR.
  13. Snyder was a SO. Joseph redshirted.
  14. Question - True Freshman champs are rare, however, one year the same team had 2 of them. Name the year, team, and wrestlers.
  15. Ha. I've just done easy google searches so far. No newspapers, student publications, etc. Lots of places to dig into to find these last ones. Hoping people will know quite a few of them when I finally post the database out there.
  16. There have been 24.2k NQs in D1. I've got the state of 22.5k, HS of 21.7k, and hometown of 14k. I haven't done a super deep dive on the others yet so I am sure I will be able to find quite a few of those too when I get to it. It's taken an extremely LOOOOOOOONG time. But worth it.
  17. Whatever they listed on a roster for hometown. If that wasn't available then a yearbook, newspaper, etc. lists them. Not perfect but nothing will be. For example, Myles Martin lists nj instead of md where he went to hs.
  18. So close. Just need to switch Ohio and Iowa. PA, OK, IA, OH, IL. Iowa is inching closer to passing OK. Oh and IL were close but OH is starting to open a gap with the past 10 years.
  19. That would be the other. Now you've got to put them in order!
  20. Numbers 2 & 3 added up doesn't equal PA! You've got 4 states. Only 1 is in the right order though (hint- it's PA). But you have listed 7 of the top 8 who are all well above any one else.
  21. New question - Name the 5 states, in order, that have produced the most AAs? * Note - I'm missing the states for almost 50 AAs, but it shouldn't affect the order.
  22. You are correct! The one you are missing is Dick Dickenson of Michigan State in 1948.
  23. The answer was 9. More than I would've thought. Next question - What high school has the most National Champs?? Bonus point if you can name when the last one was.
  24. The last 2 countries I was looking for was Iraq and Turkey. You have to go all the way back to the 50s for those. New question - Since 1967, how many unseeded wrestlers have won a National Title?
  25. You're not wrong, but both list their hometown as in the US. Though I think Gomez would list PR instead of DR since he spent the majority of his life there. Novachkov - https://gopoly.com/sports/wrestling/roster/boris-novachkov/4419 Gomez - https://msuspartans.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6270 Either way, there are a couple others out there.
