Steveson literally won a Gold Medal for the United States in dramatic fashion and did a victory lap with the Stars and Stripes draped on his back not too long ago.
Yet last night it was Hendrickson who was called “Captain America”, came out with the flag and was loudly cheered by all upon defeating Gable.
It was almost like Gable was from China or something. Odd to see a U.S. Olympic hero turn into the bad guy so quickly.
I feel like Carter isn’t getting as much attention as he deserves for being a 5x champion. Think of all the former NCAA Champs that did not win this year

In terms of maximizing and developing his recruits. Not buying mercenaries with NIL bags. He gets the most out of HIS guys.
Nebraska is the clear #2 program in the country. Congrats to Husker Nation.
1. Hendrickson beating Gable
2. Mesenbrink replacing his mouthpiece mid match
3. Iowa losing on a stalling call and subsequently challenging said stalling call
4. Trump stealing Starocci's thunder and ruining his post-match interview
Yup, no takedowns scored in 125, 133, 149 at all.
No takedowns scored in regulation in 174.
A single takedown scored in 157, 184, 197 and HWT.
141 and 165 were the ONLY matches with multiple takedowns scored...
Putting aside Hendrickson beating Gable...about 80% of the other matches were snoozefests with hardly any offensive points scored.
Is the 3 point TD making wrestling less exciting?
Agree/disagree?
Yes, I agree. Though beating Kerk is far less impressive considering Kerk could barely walk when the match started and ended up MFF the rest of the tournament.
But beating Steveson is Hodge worth in itself.
In reality Penn State got some bad draws in hitting the eventual champ in 60% of their weights.
Davis lost to Byrd
Barlett lost to Mendez
SVN lost to Lovett
Haines lost to Hamiti
Barr lost to Buchanan
Kerk lost to Hendrickson
