Yup, no takedowns scored in 125, 133, 149 at all. No takedowns scored in regulation in 174. A single takedown scored in 157, 184, 197 and HWT. 141 and 165 were the ONLY matches with multiple takedowns scored... -
Putting aside Hendrickson beating Gable...about 80% of the other matches were snoozefests with hardly any offensive points scored. Is the 3 point TD making wrestling less exciting? Agree/disagree?

Yes, I agree. Though beating Kerk is far less impressive considering Kerk could barely walk when the match started and ended up MFF the rest of the tournament. But beating Steveson is Hodge worth in itself.

Yup. If he had stayed retired from NCAA wrestling his legend would be preserved. Now he lost to a guy who won’t even win an Olympic medal. -
In reality Penn State got some bad draws in hitting the eventual champ in 60% of their weights. Davis lost to Byrd Barlett lost to Mendez SVN lost to Lovett Haines lost to Hamiti Barr lost to Buchanan Kerk lost to Hendrickson

Buchanan is great but he wrestled at Wyoming and Oklahoma before coming to Iowa as an 8th year senior. He was already very polished before coming to Iowa City. Same with Caliendo. Will Angelo be their first homegrown champ since Spencer?

Iowa fans are feeling major cognitive dissonance right now... Decades of incessant whining for stalling calls, now suddenly challenging to argue their guy WASN'T stalling....LOL!

Iowa challenging an inherently subjective judgment call like stalling should not be allowed, just like how you can't challenge a fall.
