  1. Didn't he beat Gabe Arnold though?
  2. Expect 3-4 Penn State starters to sit this one out (Davis, Kasak, Kerk)
  3. Didn't they wrestle earlier this year?
  4. How do you think Lee would feel if Ono was being trained by the Brands for the match?
  5. He's more likely to enroll at Iowa. They have a need for 125.
  6. There was a rumor that he had broken his elbow but nothing came of it. But he hasn't wrestled in a long time.
  7. Could Pindrickson catch him? Maybe Kerk could edge him in a close match? I think Cohlton Schultz, who cuts 50+ pounds to make 285, has the best shot. I could see him possibly catching Gable in a throw and pinning him with his bulk. That said, I favor Steveson to bonus his way through Big 10s, NCAAs and win the Hodge again.
  8. Dean Heil was in this position for 20 seconds vs Jimmy Gulibon. No TD, no back points, no pin called. The next season they instituted the Dean Heil rule and Heil ended up not making the podium after winning two NCAA titles in a row.
  9. Were Gable, Pat Smith, Stieber or Askren ever pinned?
  10. Thinking about some GOAT college wrestlers who got pinned: David Taylor (Bubba Jenkins in the finals) Spencer Lee (by Ramos and Piccininini) Kyle Snyder (by Gadsen) Imar (by Joseph in the finals, Nolf) Brett Metcalf (by Caldwell) Myles Martin (by Nickal in the finals) Who else am I missing? Who are some GOATs who never got pinned in college? Ruth, Dake, Retherford, Nolf, Nickal, Steveson, Cox?
  11. Teemer is very good. But his constantly back up shuffle is not Iowa style at all.
  12. Buchanan has been super impressive this year (most years he'd be a Hodge contender with the season he is having). But how does he deal with the impenetrable defense of AJ?
  13. How would Arnold feel knowing his coaches don't believe he's even the best 184 pounder on the team? Ego is very important to Arnold, hence all the trash talking of Starocci.
  14. 141 #1 Bartlett 149 #2 SVN 157 #1 Kasak 165 #1 Mesenbrink 174 #2 Haines 184 #1 Starocci 197 #2 Barr HWT #2 Kerk 8 guys in a row that are top 2...not too shabby. Barr and Kerk could conceivably move to #1 if they win Big 10s. Is this the longest "Murderer's Row" ever or did Iowa or Ok State have one longer than 8?
  15. Despite what you think he is considered one of the best refs in NCAA wrestling. There's a reason he ends up reffing so many NCAA finals.
  16. Intermat has: 1. Bartlett 2. Mendez 3. Alirez (despite Alirez being undefeated)
  17. From Angelo's point of view if he is ready to win a title this year then why sit?
  18. What if Ferrari beats Plott convincingly? To me that means the can contend for a title NOW...and perhaps shouldn't shirt this year, even though it is super late in the season.
  19. I mean Arnold is just too small for 184. I think even Iowa would admit that behind closed doors.
  20. You don't think a 3rd loss hurts him for seeding at NCAAs?
  21. I think Arnold doesn't have much to gain from wrestling Plott (I don't think he can beat Plott). Another loss just drops him further for seeding purposes.
  22. I think Arnold will sit (load management) and Ferrari will get Plott. Anyone see it differently?
  23. On FloRadio some were arguing Mendez should still remain #1 despite losing to Bartlett. Mind boggling.
