    Catastrophic failure on all levels. The amount of time the shooter had and all the encounters with security detail is difficult to believe. This should have never happened.

    Maybe we should pass a federal law that all girls and women must take birth control pills ( or have your tubes tied if you never intend to have children) until they decide that they are ready to get pregnant. We have poured billions of dollars into birth control education, but it doesn't seem to be working. It seems people have many choices when it comes to using birth control but are being irresponsible when it comes to using them. I'm going to take cover now from the incoming shells.

    It took them 3 tries and 20 years but they finally got him. They even got DNA off the gold bars to help with the prosecution.

    I still think that the SS thought they could visibly see anyone attempting to get on the far side of that roof. If the person was standing or crouched down while walking, they could have. The SS should have been up on 6- to 8-foot-high scaffolding on top of the building they were on to be able to see anyone on the far side of the roof. Massive error on SS's setup for security. Just my observation. Also the rear of the building should have been fenced off 12 feet high.

    When you look at the photos of the building from the SS snipers view, the far side of the buildings roof is not visible. So the shooter could easily crawl up the roof without being seen by the SS snipers. Huge failure on the individuals who setup the security. The shooter had a high ground perch from 130 yards away. It doesn't get much worse than this.

    You seem to be slightly unsettled. It would be interesting to see what the conversation would be like if all of us got together in person. The computer and the internet allow for some bold statements.

    With his plans and intentions of assassinating President Trump I think those Trump signs were probably a ruse. I could see him in high school having some conservative views, but something happened since then. We may never know what caused him to snap.

    For safety reasons ( because the roof was to steep) the decision was made to only secure the inside of the building. Who actually made that decision?

    Just watched the interview with the director of the Secret Service, Cheatle. She said the reason that the roof was not secured was because of how steep the roof was and for safety reasons. So, the decision was made to secure the inside of the building. The roof was too steep? Secure the inside of the building? Unbelievable.

    With the gravity of the situation and time was of the essence, just take out your pistol and fire it in the air if you are unable to shoot at the gunman. You could just stick your gun up on the roof and fire in his direction if nothing else. He could be seen from the ground. Just start shooting at him. Surely the snipers would have engaged sooner.

    They only wasted 4 or 5 million dollars this time. It's unfortunate that there isn't accountability when all this money gets wasted.
