    Just watched the interview with the director of the Secret Service, Cheatle. She said the reason that the roof was not secured was because of how steep the roof was and for safety reasons. So, the decision was made to secure the inside of the building. The roof was too steep? Secure the inside of the building? Unbelievable.

    With the gravity of the situation and time was of the essence, just take out your pistol and fire it in the air if you are unable to shoot at the gunman. You could just stick your gun up on the roof and fire in his direction if nothing else. He could be seen from the ground. Just start shooting at him. Surely the snipers would have engaged sooner.

    They only wasted 4 or 5 million dollars this time. It's unfortunate that there isn't accountability when all this money gets wasted.

    The shooter only missed killing President Trump by about 1/2 an inch. or less. The bullet was traveling at 2500 feet per second. If Trump hadn't turned his head to look at the huge graph to his right, he would have been killed.

    This might explain why the shooter wasn't taken out before he had got off 5 shots. Doesn't seem likely, but if true there should be a lot of jail time for the individuals who refused to give the order to take out the shooter. I would still like to see a photo of the back of the building where this guy climbed up the ladder to the roof. Whom ever made the call to not block off or remove ladder needs some jail time.

    He had just celebrated his 50th birthday and he was a fireman. What a senseless act of violence.

    From my experience working up on roofs like this (for 20 years) there is usually exterior ladders attached to the wall to get access to the roof. Generally, there are locks on the ground access to keep unauthorized people off the roof. I would love to see a photograph of the roof access. It should have been completely sealed off.

    Unbelievable. You would think there would be drones and helicopters doing surveillance before, during and after the rally. Plus there should be a FBI agents on every roof top.

    It seems inconceivable that there could be a security failure of this magnitude. !50 to 200 yards away for any killer is nothing. Could this guy be hired gun? They say he had no I.D. on him. Is it possible he is a hired assassin?

    Shooter was shot and has been pronounced dead. There several other people wounded. Possibly one person was fatality shot.

    Hopefully the moderators will take down all posts that are inappropriate for an attempted assassination of a President. Also, there were several other casualties.

    They are saying there were 8 or 9 shots fired and as of now one other person was hit.

    President Trump was bleeding on the side of his head when they were taking him away.

    The shot hit Trump on the side of his head. It showed him bleeding when they lifted him up. So it was an attempted assassination of a former president.
