N Korea vs India WFS 68kg - intentional injury
uncle bernard replied to Dark Energy's topic in International Wrestling
This is actually a good example of how you *can* use this move to intentionally hurt someone. The goal is to shuck the underhook by, not catch it. Fernandez intentionally catches it so he can crank up on it. In this example, the PRK wrestler was clearly trying to clear the underhook and just failed to do so. -

another example: @scourge165 @Dark Energy Finally got a chance to watch the match in question and this is clearly the move she's attempting. Not dirty. Just unfortunate. -

it's more common overseas, but some Americans hit it too. Gabe Arnold is very good at it. -

Harris Picks Walz as VP Running Mate over Josh Shapiro

Walz was so clearly the better choice I’m honestly shocked she made the right choice. Shapiro’s only qualification is being from PA. He’s extremely green and has some skeletons (not including the past IDF service). Walz has been an extremely effective governor and a long time legislator. He’s not a typical lawyer turned politician. He’s a state champion football coach and a veteran. Most importantly, he’s a very good communicator, which is what the campaign needs. -

Bad news for Kamala’s Jewish husband. -
that’s not what i meant. what they all are saying with the DEI candidate thing is that she’s only advanced because of her race.

He's not on trial for war crimes. He's on trial for corruption and financial crimes in Israel. And what do you mean escalated efforts in Gaza? They've levelled the entire strip. There's almost nothing for refugees to return to even if the war ends. They will do it slowly, but they will annex most, if not all, of the strip. Just as they did in the Golan Heights, West Bank, Jordan, etc... The complication in this process is they have to toe a very fine line to give the West some ability to say they aren't villains. It's about putting as much pressure as possible on Palestine without crossing the line the US sets. Their settlements in the West Bank are illegal. That's not in dispute. If the US wanted to, we could make them disband them in a second. But we don't because we also have to make Israel happy because they're an important proxy in the region. It's a very complex push and pull between the US and Israel, where both sides are pushing their own agenda while trying to keep the other side happy.

They're close to right attack with Kamala with the "unqualified" thing, but they can't help but tie it to race with the DEI insult. That turns off normal people who see someone who has accomplished more than 99.9999% of people. What they should be doing is exactly what the left did to Kamala in the primary. She's an empty shell who believes in nothing but her own advancement. Politics is a series of career achievements, not a self-sacrificing means to help people. THAT is why she failed in the primary. She tried to redefine herself as a progressive because she thought that was the path to victory and progressive primary voters saw right through it. She came up in the party as a tough on crime prosecutor and AG because that was an effective way to climb the ranks. She abandoned it when she thought it no longer was an advantage because she never believed in it in the first place. She never formed a strong national identity because *she doesn't actually believe in anything.* Against any other candidate, she wouldn't be competitive, but Trump is enough of a negative motivator for dem voters to make this thing close.

What specifically do you have issue with?

Their existence and future ambition to control all of Palestine (and even parts of Lebanon) are dependent on our continued support and starting a war with our number 1 adversary in the region is a great way to handcuff us to them. There are many within the security state/military that have wanted to attack Iran for decades. It's always been the ultimate goal in the region for the US. We've just never been able to jump in because of how difficult an adversary it is. Israel starting the war solves that problem. We'd have "no choice." As for Netanyahu, he's currently on trial for corruption. The war gives him the ability to delay elections, possibly all the way until 2026. Before 10/7, he was incredibly weak politically. This war has given him new life. As I said, he has ideological *and* personal reasons for extending the war. You keep saying it will continue until they "get rid" of Hamas. Even the Israelis acknowledge at this point it isn't possible.
-
Israel is trying to escalate to handcuff us to them. If they start a war with Iran, we will have no choice but to join. Netanyahu can't let this war end. When it does, he may go to jail for corruption. He has a personal and ideological reason to escalate the war in Gaza into a larger regional conflict. Iran has shown incredible restraint (or weakness) in keeping their retaliations to a minimum, but at some point that may change. I hope not.

Cowardly Trump Backing Out of Debating Harris
uncle bernard replied to red viking's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
I certainly don't care enough to discuss them on here. The question was asked of me with the assumption I support her, which I don't. But I'm well aware of the standard Democratic Party platform. What she's specifically running on, I don't care enough to know. Probably nothing to be honest, just like the last 2. It will be a "Trump bad" campaign again. -

she’s not a socialist either. she’s a moderate liberal. that’s why she has considerable corporate backing. there’s not a single policy on her platform that would come close to enforcing anything close to “equality of outcome.” she doesn’t even support single payer healthcare. it’s hilarious that you guys are trying to make the incoherent speaker thing stick when you support donald trump. all that man does is ramble incoherently. you might have a point if she was running against *literally anybody else.* -

just straight up misogyny -
she has a law degree, was a prosecutor/DA for 20 years, then state attorney general, then senator. 30 years of public service. still not gonna vote for her, but not going to pretend she’s any less qualified than the typical candidate.
-
This BS happens over and over again on this website. "I'm not voting for Harris" Next question from you idiots: "Why are you voting for Harris?" I am not a democrat. I've never voted for a democrat (Bernie Sanders is an independent). I did not vote for Joe Biden in 2020. The reason you can't wrap your heads around this - and there's no nice way to say this - is you guys have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. There are people on here who think Kamala is "to the left" of Sanders. LAUGHABLE. INSANE. You just swallow whatever lazy bait the right wing media floats out there for you. (@mspart) She's a moderate democrat with strong corporate ties and backers who would be a center-right politician in almost every other developed nation. I am a democratic socialist. If you want to know my politics, look at Scandinavia. Kamala ain't even close.
