  1. @Le duke Where did the $5000 number come from? Answer: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PTossggcz4_xV82LSv1DE9knYuPq-MG6/view 20% x 2 trillion saved, paid out across 79M tax paying households.
  2. I hear DOGE is handing out free prescriptions to cogniclear. Apparently folks are worried about the side effects: may cause an increase in critical thinking, skepticism, and logic.
  3. Short sited logic is popularism.

  8. Mean Gene gave you the clues... "net value" Goal: Remove illegal alien population in the country Plan: Stop inbound illegal aliens + deport current illegal aliens Stop inbound illegal aliens Trump: Jan 21–31, 2025: under 600 daily apprehensions. Feb 2025: ~360 daily. Biden: Dec 2023 peak: 11,000 daily apprehensions. Dec 2024: ~1,500 daily. Key note: At Biden’s peak, more illegal aliens entered in a day than in Trump’s early months. Deport current illegal aliens Trump: 500–1,000 daily deportations. Biden: 700–1,500 daily deportations. Key note: Biden deported more total illegal aliens, but Trump’s approach is flattening or reducing the population, while it grew 2x–3x+ under Biden.
  9. There is no tolerable answer to homelessness. A large portion are mentally ill A large portion refuse services of any kind Providing free housing is expensive Providing free health care is expensive Jail time is expensive Many commit crimes Forcing treatment to break addiction is a violation of autonomy Inhuman actions are inhuman Giving drugs to addicts is awful You might be surprised that most republicans believe homelessness is underfunded! For me... I'd start exploring a minimalist resettlement camp/city with barebones food/medical/shelter, high amount of quality trade education, and some bar/requirement to leave. Enough substance to survive, not enough to thrive, skill up, and earn your ticket to something better.
  10. https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/ensuring-accountability-for-all-agencies/ Does the judicial branch report to the executive branch? Nope. Article III of the Constitution keeps the judiciary separate. Does the judicial branch still hold checks on the executive branch? Yep. The EO does not rewrite the Constitution or neuter the courts. Trump now gets alignment as he promised within the executive branch and reduces being undermined by the "deep state." Win for the people! Trump is a dictator! Fact Check FALSE.
  11. If the Olympics had referred the ending of the first period differently, Steveson is winning 7-0 rather than 4-0 before the second period began.

  13. DOGE is about $15M and its going to keep growing. There was an executive order that repurposed the United States Digital Service to DOGE, and mandated embedding "DOGE teams" in every federal agency. Each team has a team leader, engineer, HR specialist, and attorney. Each will have salaries, travel, and so on. 50 agencies getting a four-person team at an average salary of $100,000 per person annually is $20 million a year just for personnel. Let's say the price goes to $100M between now and its expiration next year. Is it worth it? Yep! Spend money to make/save money! USDS had been funded at $25M with an increase proposed to $30M before DOGE...
  14. Good job from folks on skepticism and the fact checking. Consider this... A group was created to identify and advise on wasteful spending The group is proclaiming transparency, and has shown more transparency then I've seen in my lifetime It is actually the transparency that allowed the public to identify the mistake Some transparency is delayed as putting out fires is more important than documenting fires Pick 1 or 2 out of speed, scope, and quality. DOGE has clearly picked speed and scope. Classic. This administration is repeatedly communicating in favor of truth, directly counter to the lies form the media and previous administrations. They are still going to lie... but they are making a big deal about transparency and truth in response to egregious gaslighting and lies.. Self-generated public visibility has created pressure to find savings Was it an honest mistake? Simplest answer; the original 8B was a clerical error that carried over into the work. Was it deliberate inflation? No. This runs counter to the principles that drew people to help. Was it initially an honest mistake that was then exploited? Given a range of numbers, picking the highest is a natural tendency for this particular project. But $8M vs $8B is too big a number to just "pick." Was the worker fired for bad behavior? No. Most likely it is human error. Copy / paste or programmatic. How many errors do we posters make? Another consideration is why they did not publicly talk about the mistake... but that doesn't strike me as unethical; it isn't something people do. Who admits when they are wrong on this board? Who apologizes?
  15. Progressive fans of wrestling are misaligned. Square peg, round hole. Stick to soccer.
  16. I would bet 100 pushups that both Andreas and Musk are correct, but Musk is the asshole. Picking one is the suckers choice. I wonder what sort of NDAs and contracts Musk has with his women about their children. An absent father is a bad father.
  17. Is there anybody that did not withhold information, misdirect, deflect, refuse to answer questions, lie, misrepresent, push fantasy, etc. that hasn't been replaced?
  18. The specific examples of contract and lease cancellations posted on www.fpds.gov account state that it accounts for approximately 20% of the overall $55 billion in savings. This suggests to me that the listed cancellations are a subset of broader efforts. Copy/paste the "savings" table into excel to determine the savings sum is $7,187,588,305, or about 13% of the 55B. That is close enough to 20% for me. There are 17 contracts that state "SEE FPDS" rather than list the savings. If the $8M was $8B, the list would account for about 27%. It doesn't matter because its a rounding error amidst glorious work!
  19. I questioned it immediately because the my default is media skepticism. I figured it out in a five minute google search after the "slam" was posted. I don't know if I would have asked "Can we trust the contract data" if I was in charge of the project. I'm likely to have been burned as well.
  20. Would you stop guessing and think critically? What, When, Where, Who, Why, How. There was a misplaced DOGE slam because of the "mistake" of $8B saved for a contract that was actually $8M. I asked "how could this mistake have been made." This led me to identify that the contract said $8 Billion from Sept 2022 through Jan 22 2025. The mistake is not on DOGE for grabbing the available information. The mistake is on whomever entered the wrong number in Sept 2022, and whatever process allowed that mistake to go unnoticed. We'd then need to go think critically about how that occurred. Then what and or should DOGE execute to prevent bad contract data from impacting them in the future? Please review the language on the website. What do you think it means? I'm doing a lot of thinking for others...
  21. And there is a deflection. Or are you trolling? The Supreme Court case Biden v. Nebraska (June 2023) directly addressed that Biden's administration's plan on student loan forgiveness was unconstitutional.
  22. I was more trolling... Can you tell me 10 ways that the last administration did not follow the constitution? Did you care? Of course I care. Where did I say differently?
  23. I was told Elon Musk is the president so...?
