  1. This is a rare instance where I don't think Jimmy is being sensationalistic. Lesser scandals have taken down bigger names, and those didn't take place at the site of the most notorious scandal in college sports history.
  2. If these allegations are true, and they are horrendous allegations, to be clear, then I believe Cael Sanderson and his entire staff will be let go. There is without a doubt a traceable pattern of lack of institutional control that is impossible to ignore, dating back to the Andrew Long saga. The cone of silence around that program becomes much more sinister when you realize all that it may have been hiding. Win at all costs, hide behind God. That's the Penn State way.
  3. And you have shown yourself to be precisely that. Classless.
  4. I think Burroughs will be a great hire wherever he goes. With the right staff and financial backing, he could make an immediate impact on the national landscape.
  5. Interesting. Does that put it down to OKST and tOSU, or is their another possibility coming in late?
  6. The second chart is interesting. Two takeaways from that at a glance: 1) The old PAC schools were underrated, historically speaking. Presumably due to lack of competition and rankers not respecting their schedules. Kind of doubt that will still be the case moving forward. and 2) Big 10 guys in the middle tier of their respective weight classes tend to outperform seeds. I think people are generally aware of this--a Big 10 wrestler with a ~.500 record can still be quite dangerous at NCAAs, but will probably be seeded in the 20's. Interesting to see some data backing it up.
  7. I already gave you the facts, so I'm not really sure what else to tell you. The two schools have similar admissions standards, with Illinois ranked a couple rungs above OSU. This whole "mid-level" and "safety school" talk is just baseless conjecture on your part. Iowa, Indiana, and Ohio State are not all in the same boat.
  8. Illinois is ranked 33rd nationally (9th for publics). Ohio State 41st (15th for publics). Illinois has a selectivity rate of 44%, Ohio State 51%. Illinois average SAT 1410. Ohio State 1400. Illinois average ACT 32. Ohio State 31. Illinois obviously is well known for their engineering and science programs, which are all highly ranked. Ohio State doesn't necessarily have that one area it's most known for, but is well ranked across a wide variety of degree programs--top 20 in engineering, business, social sciences, nursing, chemistry, public affairs, etc. You can pick virtually any area of study and you won't have to scroll too far down the list before you find OSU. I say this not to say that Ohio State is better than Illinois, nor the opposite. Just that your notion that Ohio State is an easy school to get into for the average student is outdated. Ohio State has some professional athletes on campus playing football. It is what it is. Most of those guys aren't really students.
  9. Illinois and Ohio State are on relatively even footing these days. Similar admissions requirements and selectivity rates. Both ranked in the top 15 among public universities. Iowa is not in the same boat.
  10. Never lost a match. Ran out of time once or twice, though.
  11. You don't can the best coach in the history of your school based on one transfer. If this becomes a trend then sure, you should consider it, but I don't imagine the Ohio State staff intends to sit idly by and do nothing to improve their station.
  12. Well. Penn State was already going to win. At least this way it might be entertaining.
  13. @Perry's draft is ridiculously good. Five in the semis and tons of bonus.
  14. Other than Iowa, who is underperforming due to injuries, nobody sticks out to me too much just yet. Nebraska seems to have carried their Big 10 momentum over into this weekend. Won't really be able to assess this until after bloodround.
  15. Lost one match to Coon in a dual, which he reversed at NCAAs. He lost one match in three years at heavyweight while training basically exclusively freestyle. Coon is arguably the best heavyweight to never win a title, and won a world silver that same year.
  16. Well if it's heat you want, I'll bite. That's an insane take. Certifiably so.
  17. It seems sort of obvious that there's some animus generally within the PSU camp around how Taylor handled his last few years in Happy Valley, as well as his exit. From a neutral perspective, if they actually do hate each other, that sounds like fun. And we all know how much these guys love Fun.
  18. @VakAttack thank you for facilitating my picks and organizing. @lu_alum and thanks for the effort in scoring and recording the draft. Good luck everyone. and based on my team…. Gooooooo biggggg reddddddd
  19. I’m here, I’m just doing it from my phone but I can see the shared sheet.
