  1. So you're sayin' there is a 14% chance I don't get into Okie State?
  2. How about two guys who have been to the mountain domestically, who learned from the master, who are very charismatic and would probably recruit well, who have already dabbled in coaching, and who have already moved out of the orbit? Mark Hall and Vincenzo Joseph.
  3. Marco "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" Vespa is downstairs drilling
  4. The theory is that when MSU swore off the board it broke TBar's spirit.
  5. That guy drilling you right now? He is being very compassionate. He is showing you everything you need to work on.
  6. You have the vapors?
  7. I can follow this story or just watch Succession. Decisions, decisions.
  8. And what does it even mean to take the biggest NIL number? I think these things probably have a headline number akin to a headline number for an NFL contract. But over time we have changed how we talk about NFL contracts to also include the amount that is actually guaranteed. My guess is these NIL deals are all headline and no guarantee when it comes to wrestlers.
  9. I am bothered by the phrase renege on his commitment. All of these commitments are contingent in both directions. He can lose his scholarship, he can be recruited over, the coach can leave or be fired, and probably more scenarios that I can not think of. There is a long history of schools and coaches doing what is best for them, but not best for the individual athlete. Why should the athlete not consider what is best for him? Hell, this board has a field day when PSU recruits over an athlete. We even coined "getting Nevilled". It never ceases to amaze me that people are so bothered by symmetry. Or maybe it is change. I don't know.
  10. Ah, that green-eyed monster.
  11. The Smartmatic suit will be interesting. Are they interested in a settlement, or their day in court? They are privately held with some unkown percentage retained by their two founders. Is it personal for them (you called my baby ugly), or is it opportunistic (those fools at Fox messed up and now we get a pay day)? Dominion ultimately settled for a pay day. This seems to bother the late night talk show hosts who were upset that Fox was not forced to apologize or show any contrition. But that is naive. Dominion is 76% owned by private equity. My guess is Fox offered more money in exchange for not having to apologize. A pure financial owner could care less about the apology. The money IS the apology. And for Fox the lack of apology is probably worth the incremental expense given the current lawsuits in the pipeline. And if there are not already, there will be shareholder lawsuits to boot.
  12. I am not sure what to think about 430 matches in 6 years. Almost 72 matches per year. Sure they ended fast so its not like it was a ton of minutes, but seems too much. What is normal for that age range (13-18?)?
  13. @Ivan Stankowski Time for the Dieringer Addition Caveat: I am assuming all of Alex Dieringer's freshman year wins, pinfalls, and MD's were over D1 competition. That is not a good assumption. His sophomore through senior years he had 6 pinfalls, 1 TF, and 1 MD over non-D1 competition. I am not sure it would make a substantive difference though in the rate stats. It has the chance to change his win total, however. And since he leads by only one in that category, it could have an impact. Caveat 2: The Time and Rank stats above are for just his sophomore through senior seasons. And rankings:
  14. That is the whole point. To get to where a billion doesn't matter.
  15. FOXA is still +8.2% on the year while the broader market is +8.3%. The last two days return won't make or break them. I can do this forever.
  16. FOXA was down 0.6% today while the broader market was down 1.6%. We have different definitions of diving.
  17. One other thing I failed to explain is the rank stats. These are the average wrestlestat ranks of the opponents that each wrestler pinfell, TF'ed, and MD'ed. A lower average value means that the wrestler beat tougher competition, in the sense that WrestleStat has/had the competition ranked higher. For example, Spencer Lee pinned guys with an average rank of 50 while Kyle Snyder was pinning lower ranked competition. The good news is that no one can argue with WrestleStat rankings.
  18. Spencer Lee hopscotches Bo Nickal, but it gets more so for Jason Nolf. What would you eliminate?
  19. Thank you. TFs? Were all the losses decisions?
  20. Wrestlingstats Okie State data is only through 2012. Dieringer was a freshman in 2013. WrestleStat starts in 2014. Sigh.
  21. Ask and ye shall receive. The percentages are now: Percentage of all matches won by pinfall, Percentage of all matches not won by pinfall that were won by tech fall, Percentage of all matches not won by pinfall or tech fall that were won by major decision
  22. *except for that time Captain America lost his mighty shield.
