  1. I wouldn't say he had to overcome the fans in the arena. They were definitely behind him.
  2. They showed three different angles in the arena where it was obvious. The last of the three was the best and the singlet was extended 6 to 8 inches away from Burroughs' leg. But, people have a hard time abandoning their hot take once they commit to it.
  3. Hopefully they start having the virtuous cycle where RTC results begin to pay off with college recruiting wins. If they can get the Warners, Woods, Gomezes, Cassiopis, etc. to stay home it wound pay big dividends.
  4. In the arena it was a different experience. @Jason Bryant did an excellent job explaining what was challenged. And the refs gave clear explanations over the PA of the results of a challenge. They also put on the jumbotron what was being reviewed by the refs. For example, there was a different view of the Nick Lee / Yianni Diakomihalis action at the end of match 2 on the jumbotron. When they showed it in the arena there was a loud concensus for two.
  5. I think you are right. The wrestlingstats brackets have it as Oklahoma State, but I think A&M is correct. Edit: Just checked. It was A&M until 1958.
  6. I agree that it probably had little impact on the action, but I am perfectly fine with the athlete calling attention to it. He felt it and it was confirmed to very clearly have happened, so it is reasonable to say he felt impeded by it (it impacted the action). And if they had not awarded the point after seeing the very clear pull, that would have been the travesty.
  7. That singlet didn't grab itself.
  8. A lot of you were right about Lee and Marsteller. Let's call Cox an incomplete.
  9. Yes, I would be interested in that as long as my cause need not be worthy.
  10. Regardless of the topic, that is a valid concern.
  11. If you are walking around the concourse and you see someone who makes you think, "no one has a right to be that handsome", come over and say hi.
  12. I have been wondering about that bracket and why there was no 8th place. Thanks for clearing that up.
  13. In 1929 Oklahoma State's 115 pounder, Dell Shockley, entered a three man bracket, got a first round bye (yep, he got a bye to the final), then lost in the final and the true second match. 0-2 BBQ, but still an All-American. I can find no record of Dell Shockley before or after 1929.
  14. Do you know if they are copying the high school rule or doing their own version?
  15. Come on, man, it's the off-season.
  16. apparently not with your crappy spiral ride, claw ride, side or front headlock, you can't.
  17. Yep. And what does work to turn mean? This one will take some time I think to get worked out as different refs will see it, and call it, differently. The good news is that no one on this board, HR, or BWI will get worked up about it.
  18. Does hook = grasp? There is no clarity in the NCAA announcement.
  19. I was able to hack into @ionel's security camera and acquire footage of this week's practice session.
  20. There was also the week that RBY, Diakomihalis, and Kerkvliet were each left off one ballot even though they had enough matches.
  21. The only reason to stand in line at a fast food joint is if you are in a town with only one fast food joint.
  22. Using team placement weakens the argument. In the 80's the SEC had three eighth place team finishes, one ninth place finish, and one tenth place finish. I, too, want wrestling to be more popular, but claiming something that wasn't won't make that happen.
  23. But there are two sides to the coin. The five percent could have come from another category, but it didn't. It came from the category that was the source of some embarassment this past season.
