  1. The answer is one more. Its always one more.
  2. I feeling like you were looking at @ionel when you said that
  3. Nick Lee getting decked by Ryan Diehl after beating him 22-10 two months prior.
  4. I will take the other side of that bet. Put me down for $1 trillion in a basket of LUNA, UST, and a few coins I will invent if I lose the bet.
  5. 52.1 plus bonus. The first place team usually scores around 24 bonus points. But that seems unlikely if you only score 52 advancement and placement points, so lets call it 15 bonus. That gets you around 67 total. The last time that would have won was 1960 when the tournament was only scored to four places and first place was only worth 10 points. But this way is more democratic.
  6. An oversight? Or do you think there is no chance for Diakomihalis?
  7. I think the coaches are on to something. The way to keep PSU off the podium is to keep them out of the tournament.
  8. Its not stupid. Its schtick. "Woe is PSU. They are going to loose this dual. I am a big PSU fan, but what will we ever do?" When is the last time you picked those weaklings from State College to win a dual? Last year you had Iowa winning 21-9, for example.
  9. https://www.ncaa.com/news/wrestling/article/2023-01-19/ncaa-releases-first-coaches-ranking-2023-division-i-wrestling-championships To qualify for the rankings a wrestler muat have 8 matches against D1 opponents (who are also not teammates). So there are a lot of wrestlers who haven't hit that criteria yet, but will. Spencer Lee, RBY, and Yianni Diakomihalis are missing, for example.
  10. I remember my parents saying that, too. My dad was from Philly and my mom was from Queens. Not sure which one, or both brought it to the midwest.
  11. I'm glad you asked, even if you didn't exactly ask.
  12. My brother-in-law whose sons are wrestlers to me and my drinking age son: "You walk into a bar with cauliflower ears and nobody messes with you." My son: "What kind of bar are you walking into?"
  13. Good point. I read it as defending even though he said returning.
  14. I will go with: Spencer Lee Diakomihalis Brooks RBY Starocci O'Toole Dean I refuse to live in a world where three timers are not most likely to repeat. They will both repeat. And I hope it happens by Lee pinning the field while Diakomihalis takes five 1 point victories. I have the two timers next. For me Brooks is the clear number 3 and I have a hard time separating RBY and Starocci. But Lewis has a title and Fix does not, so there you go. Next come the one timers. O'Toole looks great, but so did David Carr after his first title. Dean's weight has the least separation among the top 8 or so, in my opinion, making it the toughest to show clear separation from the field.
  15. So here is the weird thing. There were no extra spaces. But somewhere deep in the bowels of machine readable characters there was some difference. So I just replaced the one with the other and all is right with the Tigers world.
  16. Seeding is everything - coach before and during seeding meeting Seeding doesn't matter - same coach after seeding meeting
  17. He is. And he is in there as a 3x and a 1x. There must be an extra space in the line with 1x. I will fix that. So now the Brian Smith unique AA's are 30, but still 62 total AA's.
  18. I guess we fundamentally disagree. Also the premise was make the final, rather than win the final. How many had Kizhan Clarke making the 141 final last year (or getting the first takedown)? A chip and a chair.
  19. Checks category. Yep, it says Dark Horses. OK, what was the question again?
