    I think the New York Third could go either way, but the California Twentieth is solidly Republican. So post-special elections the Republican majority will be 7 or 9.

    Seven. With Santo's expulsion it stands at 221 - 213. With McCarthy's resignation it will be 220 - 213. The Special Election for NY's Third is February 13. Not sure when the California's Twentieth will occur.
