  1. Will it be anything like the recession predicted for 2023? If so, sign me up.
  2. Everyone wants to be the next Stephen A. Smith. I would be ok with one less rather than one more.
  3. Yes, and Taylor's statement was that he lost the fire. Without the fire he got worse.

  12. Let's exclude the athletes that came in as household names with big marketing income like Simone Biles, all the NBA players, etc. My short list is: Leon Marchand - home country hero obviously, but also trains in the US so maybe can penetrate this market. Gabby Thomas - brains (Harvard biology major, masters in public health from Texas), glamour Olympic event (track), and has the looks of a model. Who is going to cash in on these Olympics?
  13. @ionel who has gone farther? You on the bike? Or Katie Ledecky in the water (~29,300 miles)?
  14. Somewhere someone asked something about US swimmers swimming for other countries. The bigger trend in swimming is foreign swimmers coming to the US to train, mainly through NCAA swimming. Six foreign athletes training in the US won 8 golds, 2 silver, and 4 bronze for 14 total medals (2.33 per swimmer). That is 5% of actual medals awarded. Relays bump actual medals up above what gets counted in a medals table. But the only foreign swimmer training in the US to win a relay medal was Marchand. So in this case, only the denominator is increased. The denominator is 219 (awarded to 125 swimmers, or 1.752 per swimmer). The US earned 69 total medals (again, actual medals) by 34 swimmers, or 2.03 per swimmer.
  15. People can get particular about spelling around here. Zain wrestles Saturday morning.
  16. Amen. I stumbled across this when I saw an ad for Fubo that mentioned you get access to the Olympics on Peacock included. I almost signed up for Fubo before finding out you get it with many providers.
  17. Big thumbs up on the reference. The world needs more Tenacious D.
  18. NBCSports.com you do not need to pay for Peacock if you have certain providers (there is a list and search function). I used my Hulu+Live credentials, for example.
