  1. No argument there....great teams at that time!
  2. I'm guessing your nephew's initials are CM then, and I have a great story there, but it would help to give me away....lol Fadz
  3. The Brakeman reports were always a great read and wealth of information. You can still find them online... a couple of my favorite reads were his take on Shawn Nelson, North Royalton, Ohio (now the coach at Findlay College) and Luke Fickell, now the head football coach at Wisconsin. If you are ever bored, pulled a couple of these up for your reading enjoyment....also a great learning experience. Fadz http://www.ovaecwrestling.com/2010/2008_brakeman.htm
  4. I've always preached that wrestling wasn't a game!
  5. You and Jadidi!
  6. Davison's best guys on those teams...Chase and Brent Metcalf, John Reader, Paul Donahoe, Chad Rousch, Casey Streeter, Trevor and Travis Perry, and Joe and John Whitman. St. Edwards has had many great teams as well as St. Paris Graham....not saying the 1981 St. Ed's team is there best....I like the '82 team, but the '81 team had Pat Welch 3rd, and 5 state champs who all went on to Division 1 success. Greg Wright, Jim Heffernan, Greg Elinsky, Joe Silvestro and Bill Elbin.

  8. I thought Cassioppi was coming back for one more year?????
  9. Is Tony Cassioppi a senior at Iowa? Iowa's fifth-year senior Tony Cassioppi has decided that he will come back for his sixth season as the Hawkeyes' heavyweight, a decision that came even before the Big Ten and NCAA championship tournaments.Mar 27, 2023 (just sayin'....so Gable goes to Iowa to beat out Cassioppi??????) It looks like Cassioppi will be back...I googled this
  10. I can't picture Cassioppi being a street fighter, and from my experience, I see most great wrestling heavyweights as being pretty mild mannered, not that they couldn't flip a switch, not considered D1 right now, but Gabe Steveson would be a bad dude in a street fight. Pound for pound Nick Suriano fits the mold.
  11. talk about trolling
  12. Ah....I missed that thanks
  13. I had to dig deep, but found it MIcky Phillipi beat him in the dual 3-1
  14. Jordan Burroughs is on my Mt. Rushmore of wrestling in sooooo many ways!!!!
  15. They must have seen it with a different camera angle on video review.
  16. I don't have a problem with Flo....I starting "filming" wrestling with Super 8 in 1970, then to VHS in 1985....travelled all over to capture USA vs. USSR, Midlands, Big Ten, NCAA, College duals and more.....one of those trips cost more than Flo for a year, and I can watch it in the luxury of my own home, when I'm not attending an event. I might add, that I have a pretty awesome library of college and international wrestling, as well as some documentaries, and a number of great clinics.
  17. I happened to be watch her show a number of years ago when when she was with Michael Strahan, when she discussed her son first going out for wrestling in maybe junior high....that episode was good for wrestling too.
  18. Got ya....this is a warmup though.
  19. That depicts Musashi an undefeated 16th century Japanese swordsman who was undefeated and someone Dave admired.
  20. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE...The Legend LIves On!
  21. To begin with, Mark Schultz was 3 time NCAA Champion and a 2 time World Champion. How about Zain Retherford 3 time NCAA Champion, 3 time Big Ten Champion, Hodge Award, 2nd World Championships 2022, Hodge Trophy, then there is Jason Nolf who could go ahead somebody....3 time NCAA Champion 2 time Big Ten Champion 4 time all American.
  22. I like St. Louis, Kansas City Okla City sprinkled in.
