  3. Jimmy Carr had a great double leg from outside or with an armdrag to a double leg.
  4. I'm always at NCAA's....#45, 39 in row, and Mallory was D2 (Montclair State)....his coach was Jim Peckham, who along with Bill Wieck (Mt. Carmel,ILL.) coached some of the USA teams in the early 70's.
  5. I witnessed it....the reaction was ......WOW, and near the top of this page the question was asked about 7th seeds taking first.....well, the year Daniels won it a 118, Kenny Mallory won it at 134 and was the 8th seed. He beat Frank DeAngelis in the finals who was unseeded.
  6. THANKS!!
  7. Agreed. I hated it. Brilliant performances by the actors but definitely not a movie to watch more than once. It's like watching "The Road". But remember, there is Foxcatcher AND Team Foxcatcher, as well as Prince of Pennsylvania (ESPN 30 for 30)....you may like them much better if you haven't already seen them.
  8. I'll call it a trilogy for Dave Schultz....2 were mentioned Foxcatcher and Team Foxcatcher, but I didn't see the third one mentioned....ESPN's "Prince of Pennsylvania".....Fadz
  9. Age is just a number! Kind of nice being my age....great career/life including 45 NCAA Championships/39 in a row, many Big Tens, World Cups, State tournaments in 2 states, dual and individual, and much more. Uncountable number of clinics both worked and attended. Aches and pains, but would do it all over again.
  10. Actually, TJ Hill went to Cal State Fullerton.
  11. Some great names there!
  12. I haven't seen Michigan mentioned yet, and I'm not sure there is a definitive criteria, so I'll throw out some names and not in any order... 13. David was born in Reno, Nevada, but wrestled all 4 years at St. Paris Graham, OH.
  14. Nice, I have a hard time not having Alan Fried in the discussion (high school especially) Was definitely fun to watch, very good technically and a great competitor.
  15. Good stuff!!
  16. The Hodge is based primarily on a single season, but not entirely....... Originally created to celebrate the pin in college wrestling, the Dan Hodge Trophy is based on seven criteria including record, number of pins, dominance, past credentials, quality of competition, sportsmanship/citizenship and heart. The trophy is based primarily on the results of a single season, but past accomplishments are considered as well, particularly in years where the competition is tighter.
  17. Haven't followed this issue, but just curious......when Ayres left, did he leave with the cupboard bare???
  18. Taylor for me.....Ledecky second.....Clark third
  19. what's a "pinfall"? Must be a term before the modern era!
  20. I was two years old, and Amateur Wrestling News hadn't hit the press for the first time, so this wasn't stored in my cranial terabytes.....darn it....thank goodness for Google!!! WKN.....you're alright!!!
  21. No, because I probably wasn't born yet, and yes, you got the first 2 ITME right. There, I made up an acronym....lol.
  22. Bingo!!! Cedar Rapids Prarie H. S.
  23. Thanks Jas.....I'll back up one year to 1968-1969! That being said, here's another trivia question....who were/are the first two 4 time all-americans......(in the modern era...lol) I like talking "modern era" because was/am alive in the modern era.
