Seidel “upsets” Forrest in the semis

Seidel had a 3-1 TD advantage in the dual. Credit to Forrest for the 7 point move for the win though but he knows he dodged a bullet. Seidel will be ready and his nerves should calmer after getting a match or two under his belt. It’s a homer pick but I think he majors Forrest

I watched this match again last night. Seidel hung with him and it could have gone either way. Took Jax to his back twice but no backs. A month later Jax seems to have gotten better but so has Seidel. I think Jax gets the close win but it could go either way.

check this match out again.

There was a lot of hype for this match and so far, I think it’s been the best match all season. They are both elite and both capable of beating each other. Jax is probably the favorite in a rematch but to me, Seidel controlled most of the match (which surprised me) and minus the 7 point move, was headed towards a bonus point victory. Not saying it should have happened or will in a rematch but a Seidel win wouldn’t shock me at all on Friday

But could Larkin have something to say ... 🤔

I will call my shot with Jett or Witt beating Luke Thursday night. In my brain they are both going to sell out for that match and get enormous and pull off the upset of the tournament.

I have the Larkin bros down for 3+ titles when they're done, but this year they settle for the podium.

I have this on my bracket. One thing Seidel needs to do is ride Jax a little longer, and then on bot, watch for the cross body ride and ball & chain. Easier said then done, but Seidel is crafty.

Larkins are in two very rough weight class ranges.

Even if Blaze and Jax RS next year, and Davino and Seidel move up, he'll have Ono to deal with.

If Larkin the Larger stays 157, he'll have to deal with Kasak for two years and Taylor for one. If he goes 165, he'll get smoked by MM next year, then Duke the next three years.

TBH, thought the best chance for Kaleb Larkin was at 149. Van Ness seems a shoe-in for me, despite his early concession of takedowns, and is lacking a proper title challenger.

For Kyler, it's much tougher, I think he's at his best weight at 133, but it's a beast of a weight class.

Byrd loses R1 to Shawver. Anyone said that yet? That's my call.

It’s possible Byrd didn’t look sharp and him and Shawver been wrestling since high school and 2x already this year and the most recent was 3-1

"Hung with him"? He put it on Forrest ... but, but, but, look at the exchanges, esp the first. Forrest twice reached for an elbow that wasn't there (The second time, he got put on his back.) He did the same thing in a second period exchange. Idk he just looked off (and so did the rest of the team).

That said, Seidel scored twice from the same attack. He caught Forrest stepping in both times. It's concerning bc it's the exact attack he used in the st finals to get to the leg. But, this time he scored twice.

So, yeah, exciting rematch.

PS: will Seidel go down? What if he cant get two take downs in the first?

Seidel should choose top or neutral. He had two exposures that were really close to getting BP. To the surprise of most, Seidel was the better neutral wrestler.

I think chaos is coming for 149. Ryder Block or Aden Valencia make the finals out of the bottom half.

Nailed it. Love to see it from Valencia

Ty Watters makes the semis at 157 beating both IVY guys.

Strickenberger AAs as the 17 seed and Klinsky AAs as the 11 seed at 125 and beats Dean Peterson in the R12 NJ bloodbath

Mendez goes out like Myles Martin and loses in the semi to Stanich

2 for 4 but Jett and Stanich were soooo close
