What will Penn State’s lineup look like next year? Incredibly, the only starter they lose is Haines…

I’m a PSU fan but far from the die hard type and I honestly say it’s good to see some of the recent talent going to other schools. Good for the wrestlers, fans, schools and sport. Good here to - next seasons board will include more VT team talk for those following Bassetts success and the same can be said about OSU with Jax there. Even the recent Iowa commits will make the Hawkeyes fun to follow again in a few years. I say good for PSU and their line up next season and good for D1 in general with hs kids getting better each yr.

Duke, Blaze, James  redshirt. 

That lineup makes the most sense to me, if trying to keep everyone on board.

Coach Sanderson said a few weeks ago that he probably would not see 33 again.  So I am thinking 41 then eventually 49 in a couple of years. I think him and Blaze will be 41 & 49 in 2 years when SVN graduates.

133 - Blaze/Ono/maybe Desmond (I heard Cael’s comments but a year is a long time and the desire to get in the line up can change things)

141 - Blaze/Ono/Davis (he needs a RS to get more used to the weight and some reflection time to mature and better handle his emotions)

149 - SVN

157 - Kasak (Duke RS on his way up to 165/174)

165 - MM

174 - Henckel (Duke? If he doesn’t RS and blows thru 165)

184 - Rocco

197 - Barr

285 - Mirasola (Hopefully 10lbs heavier and ALOT stronger)

JJ RS, lots of depth - the other Mirasola at 197, Sealy 157/165, Cunningham 184, a few others I’m sure I’m missing. I could see (not predicting but could see it) a Blaze RS…maybe on way to 141, Zains path, freshman AA, RS, come back undefeated and dominant next 3 yrs.

It’s still PSUs world for 1 more year until my crystal ball gets fuzzy and who knows what happens in 2027-2028 with Olympic RSs.

I like Ono at 33 and Desmond at 41.  Redshirt Blaze & Duke next season.  They will be Horse's for the following 3 years.

I see Duke going for 70 kg one more time after the NCAA season, then redshirting to make the full time move to 165 lbs/74 kg. Similar idea for Blaze and 61kg - 65kg.

Duke will not ever be going 157 again.  

SplitTheG, I think Davis redshirts next year.  Add Sealy to the possible transfer list.  Blaze redshirting makes sense, but I don't see it happening.  Are Mirasola's a package deal?

Maybe Connor takes an Olympic redshirt in 27/28.

The Mirasolas said in an interview that they would never transfer, even if one of them can't make the lineup one year. Seems like Connor will be satisfied with burning all his eligibility until Josh Barr graduates.

PJ & Blaze would transfer before red shirting next year.   But Cael isn’t that stupid.  Blaze will be given his choice of the lower weights.  MM will be given his choice in the mid weights with PJ getting #2. Ain’t no way they are choosing wrestlers like Davis and Kasak over those 2 FR.

I disagree, these guys are all coming into the program with full buy in.  It is best for the program to use the redshirts.  It also gives them both a great chance to win 3 in a row.

I think Kasak can win a national championship next year at 157, but the ONLY reason Duke would redshirt is if he cannot make 157 next year. PJ Duke does what he wants, but you can't have him contend for the spot against a returning 2x national champion. It's against the rules.

PSU 2026 just broke the scoring record. They return all starters besides Haines. They will be tough to beat.

We'll see about that. 

I think next year PJ goes 165 and Kasak goes 157
