S1 finale was epic! I liked that Andor respected its audience and treated us like actual grown ass adults, so storylines could have swearing, and people getting actually killed, drugs, affairs, etc., and without using arbitrary Jedi force magic as a crutch.

I love the music at the ending of s1 andor!      Hammer lock hasn’t  seen any.  He needs to see both.

that was the worst show of all time, bar none. Alien earth #2

Alien Earth had so much potential then went with adult actors playing 11-12 year old children ruined that quickly.

I thought the move to this new platform meant more free speech and less censorship?

Twitter posts by a Big Ten wrestling coach are certainly newsworthy...

The OP couldn’t even get out of the first post without saying Tom Ryan supports murder and such…the thread probably could have stayed but there’s a mature, legal ways to do things and politically motivated defamation ain’t it.

Now I want to watch ANDOR but I ain’t adding another stream! Recently upgraded HBOMAX and Netflix to get 4K and Dolby Atmos. Paramount+ with ads. Aaargh. I suppose I could cancel FoxOne and give up RAF?

It would have been fine if it was posted in the non wrestling topics forum on the homepage of intermat forums. It does not relate to college wrestling, it relates to politics, therefore it was in the wrong forum, therefore it was removed. If you would like I'm sure you can post it in the non wrestling forum of intermat. Now let's talk about college wrestling

Overall, there's been a lot more flexibility and less censorship on this "new" board. We've allowed threads about Starocci's off-the-mat allegations, AJ Ferrari getting arrested, or Braeden Davis out partying.

Strange that a wrestling coach's twitter comment is now censored.

I believe the site owners embrace 1st amendment - freedom of speech far more than most. Just when some felt the site self monitors itself an admin quickly steps in and removes a blatant political post which was clearly in the wrong forum. There’s a site designed specifically for non wrestling topics. Even there the poster may have had difficulty keeping it posted due to their motivation to post it in the first place. Now we know, someone IS watching. 👀

If you go to the non topic forum, it literally says in it that you can talk politics.  There is a place to speak freely on here, you can go there and choose to do it. You can either stop talking politics or I can rally the squad and just turn this into a food topic to make it irrelevant anyway.Animation Dancing GIF by SpongeBob SquarePants

It wasn't my thread - I'm not into politics, but am interested to hear what wrestling coaches tweet. Seems more relevant to college wrestling than "5 words for 5 words" which has been going for 3+ yrs.

I by no means take issue with discussing the tweet at all…blindly calling someone a supporter of murder and claiming your truths as absolute truths is not only illegal (defamation of character) but morally objectionable. Also, you’re not leaving any room for actual discussion and shared opinions/views closing off your audience like that. You just want people to hear you spew hate and join in…

I didn't see that - must've been posted later. But can't they just delete the offending reply?

Well stating he supported murdering people was in the initial post and stating he supports murder as an absolute truth was later on and other poster stating similar and/or other risky things came quickly…it all got ugly relatively quickly. They probably thought it best to just delete it all…again I was fine discussing it but do it responsibly.

The original poster said Tom Ryan supports murder. Tom/the tweet didn’t say it. Which is the only person who can make that comment factually.

I didn't see the original post here, but I was curious so I looked at Ryan's Twitter feed.  And.... holy crap. This dude is seriously brainwashed.

I disagree with whoever said it's non-wrestling-related. The point is not to debate the wacky shit he's posting, but to point out the wrestling-related impact of what he's saying. He's so far off the right-wing cliff that it's got to be, at minimum, a serious recruiting problem, and a potential problem for the administration. If he's spouting this insane conspiracy crap to his wrestlers, he's going to hurt team morale and solidarity.

To be clear, it isn't that he skews right.  It's that he's an extremist peddling views so extreme that it calls his character and judgment into question. I'd say the same thing if he were a far-left wingnut. The fact that he's putting those radical views out there so publicly and so loudly is going to alienate a lot of people and, to be honest, it hurts his credibility with all this conspiracy-propagating, crypto-shilling election-denialism.

And the fact that he puts it on his official tOSU Twitter account is basically saying, "This is what I preach to my athletes."  How could a parent send their kid to Ryan's team without worrying about the collateral impact of his whack-a-doodle views?

how about the fact that nothing any of the characters did made any sense? Did that have a negative impact?

You almost act as if this is a new ideology for Tom Ryan the head coach for the 2nd ranked team in the country, which it isn't, so why has he still been so successful??  He clearly isn't hurting team morale nor solidarity.  And who made you the overseer of what is too far right or too far left??  Just because YOU disagree with some of his believes you are going to label him as and claim it hurts the team, recruiting, and the administration...but yet his views clearly haven't.  Could maybe YOUR view be the incorrect one here??

By the way I am NOT an Ohio State fan nor a Tom Ryan fan as a coach.

I would like to second this motion of leaving non-wrestling (especially political posts) to somewhere else besides this specific college wrestling board.

I enjoyed it. It has people fighting with laser swords and that is enough to make me happy.

The thing is, the first amendment doesn't apply to this board. People should understand the difference between the government punishing you for saying something or censoring you and a business deciding that the topic isn't allowed on their forum. I am not accusing you of not understanding this, it's just a general statement.

I think it's great that the mods of this board are trying to allow us a version of free speech, but I don't want to participate in any forum that takes a "free speech absolutist" stance where literally anything is allowed. I'll pass on that.
