You don’t think Forrest is getting much NIL?   Considering Bo Bassett decommitted from Iowa because of benefits Forrest was getting that he wasn’t, I think it’s a pretty safe bet he’s getting at least six figures a year on top of scholarship

I'm just asking if then from where?  Its been reported many times that Richison is not interested in funding NIL.  Maybe a local tow truck company is giving him NIL ... the old ball and chain?

I believe it was reported that the lady who passed away recently was one possible source

Redshirting would give him an additional year on the other end for NIL $. Assuming he has a stellar career....that could be a lot of $

What are top wrestlers getting in NIL money?

Idk. I just can't believe it's anywhere close to 6 figures. It implies that the top 10 (15?) schools have super-rich benefactors willing to invest/gift a decent middle-class salary to multiple kids with no expectation of a monetary return.

Maybe, I've been poor too long to understand.

Close to 6 figures?  Real Woods was getting 6 and that was way early, look at Bob's checkbook.  Davino 6 right out of high school.

Ok, if you say so. I still don't understand why.

Haha. Apparently, I'm illiterate and finacially inept. Apologies.

I think pay to play is the real answer you are looking for in the why ... unless of course you can dig up those commercials.

I would take seriously anyone who applies the formal approach to apostrophe use, which is seen less often nowadays in mainstream journalism, let alone on a rasslin' forum.

Word, but the comma splice run-on is throwing me off.

Back to the original question, all indications are that he is not redshirting.   Personally, I would redshirt him, unless I really thought there was a good chance of winning the team title.  Give him his RS matches and have him for four more years along with the crazy good recruits there now plus the ones coming in.

I think there’s really only one indication - wrestling attached at the open.   Taylor has said all along that he’s going to use his 5 dates.  But if those dates were for the purposes of helping the team, he wouldn’t have used one of them for an open tournament.

But then what about Ronnie?

he's going to transfer.

Could be.  Do you take him out of rs before he transfers.  Its possible folks are going up in weight next.  I think David has a plan.
