So Brands and Ramos got into it...

I hope the Brands brothers never leave. They’re too entertaining to be fired

Brands have wore their welcome out except for Iowa fans.   Can you say Bobby Knight with all of their antics.  Documentary within five years.

Iowa was trying to save its budget$$$ they did not have their starters travel so they could save money on lodging, entry fees and meals.  Had they all been there ( I mean wrestling) they would be in first place.  I hear it now!!!!!

Agreed. I enjoy Tom’s post match interviews and pressers. It’s like those Netflix docs where you hear interviews of serial killers. Factor in the drama that manages to creep in a few times a season - ie Brands gets into it with X in the parking lot at Hyvee or Brands gets into it with someone’s dad in the stands at X dual. It’s just gold. AND because with them and the current assistants they more and more cement themselves at 3, maybe 4 or 5 each year with their inability to recruit, develop or maintain an RTC of any note. Beth extend them to 2050!!

Bailey and Williams are both at the wrong weights.  It's such a shame as they both have high all American potential down a weight.

Doesn’t look like a weight issue to me. Looks like a motivation issue

Yep I saw it when they were both at LR. They seemed to never wrestle though tough situations. When they transferred I thought to myself Iowa fans aren’t gonna like them. Some guys are better off staying at under the radar schools but I’m sure Iowa offered them a package.

A lot of young wrestling fans don’t realize the downfall of “Iowa wrestling” is of the downfall of the sport entirely. Thank the earlier renditions of wrestling authorities- these lazy **** ‘s take full ownership/responsibility, period end of story. They are the nail in today’s wrestling coffin.  I love the expression “old is gold” it’s just not applicable to collegiate wrestling today. You guys SUCK and should find something else to do. You’re in the way of PROGRESS.

I'm begging you bro, you have to stop skipping your medication doses. Your family will thank you. Set alarms on your phone. If you forget where the medication is, you can put the location as the title of the alarm.

I’m glad I’m not the only person who had to read his post over and over and still didn’t understand it.

Koy Hopke had a nice 6-1 over Christian Carroll.  This was especially impressive after Carroll beat Coby Merrill yesterday, who beat Hopke very badly in freestyle last spring.  Hopke vs. Ziola in the finals is a rematch from the Bison Open this year which Ziola won. Zoila then lost to Hopke's teammate Bennett Tabor in the Bison finals.

High all American potential wrestlers don't lose badly to community college wrestlers up just one weight like Bailey just did.

Powe is not a typical community college wrestler; he was a D1 NCAA Qualifier as a true freshman in 2024, when he went 25-4

It's not just the loss to him, it was the absolute lack of effort at the start of the 2nd period til the end of the match. Maybe he was gassed, but that room should be in good shape by now. B1G dual season is knocking on the door. Iowa should not have guys getting gassed or plain just not wrestling through positions by the second period. Imo

Full of un-bias blasphemy.

Can we all agree that this should be the last year of the Soldier Salute?

It is immensely disrespectful to fail to show up for your own tournament.  It's a disservice to the fans, who may already have had tickets, but especially to the coaches other schools who attended.  You just know they'd talked this up to their teams as a chance to face one of the top teams in the country, turning down other tournaments and duals for the chance to face Iowa, flying halfway across the country to take them on... and then getting there only to find a handful of Iowa JV wrestlers.

It's just so insulting.

Even Army isn't going anymore.  So much for the "Soldier" part of the tourney.

There's some decent teams going but not enough to make it interesting.  The only finals matchups that even raise an eyebrow are the intra-squad Missou match at 149 (they'll probably double-forfeit), the lone Iowa kid taking on Wask, and some decent action at HWT.

Put a fork in it.

at least in williams case he'd be at that weight if it was the case. When he was at 149 at OSU everyone was blaming smith for him looking horrible, but the reality is he's a no time AA, always been soft.

how about psu start a successful tourney before caring what anyone else does … and send their starters to something before big season before worrying what others do
