Was Travis enrolled at Okie State? I'm wondering how his eligibility works out. I didn't think the Big 12/NCAA allowed athletes to transfer and compete for two different schools in the same season.

It's the NCAA you can do whatever you want. But seriously, being enrolled means nothing - Trephan was enrolled last year but competed unattached, transferred between semesters, and AA'd for Lehigh last year. So as long as Travis hasn't competed he should be fine.

+1, makes sense. I guess this is also the same NCAA that let a kid at UALR compete all season after he exhausted his eligibility the year before.

99% sure Nate Galloway competed for two teams in one season a couple decades ago too. I want to say Penn State to Rider, Clarion, Lehigh one of those? So that's established precedent but I have absolutely zero recollection of the circumstances.

But has anyone competed for 3 teams in one season and more importantly if they did what could/would the NCAA even do about it?

I’m not sure how the lineup shakes out, but seems likely Mendoza probably will RS and take over 149 next year. Edmond could drop to 141, Mendoza to 149 and Travis at 157. However Seltzer and Conway would be pushed out. Seltzer is finally wrestling better for us than he’s ever been and can’t make 133. Smith will have a big choice to make. Conway is also injuried not sure the extent. Maybe he stays out the season and gets a medical. Some options here, but I don’t see Travis coming to ride the bench.

Hopefully not anymore!

I don't know why you'd pull true freshman Mendoza's RS and bump senior Edmond out of the lineup. Mendoza is clearly a good prospect, but he has like a 2-3 record right now and could use some experience.

He’s wrestled some tough guys thus far. He was slated to start at 141 however that seems to be not happening as he can’t get down or hasn’t been able to as of yet.

I don't know all the details and have no clue what Coach Smith and staff are going to do, nor should I, but Mendoza has been wrestling up and was supposed to be the 41.  Heck, I'd personally redshirt him but I'd 100% be for Teague being in the lineup...he fights and battles.   Edmond isn't my favorite and I think he loses a lot of matches he should be winning and it is frustrating and boring from a fans point of view.   It is usually 1 good opening takedown and then nothing until it is too late...been watching it for over 3 years and sick of it.

Amen. Exactly how I feel. Unfortunately Smith doesn’t seem to do anything about it though as we saw with Mauller and Jacques. My guess is Mendoza redshirts and Teague fits right in at 157. He’s definitely an upgrade over Conway…I wouldn’t be upset if I didn’t see him in a Mizzou singlet again.

Now we just need a 133 transfer and our frustrations would be reduced significantly…

He has to be. Redshirted in 2022, competed (non-starting) in 2023, then was a NQ the last 2 seasons. What’s odd though is that his player profile on OK State’s 2025/2026 roster says he’s a redshirt junior.

My guess is Mendoza works Edmonds over especially if they have live goes over 1 1/2 minutes.  Over 2 minutes and I be willing to put money on it.  Over 2 minute goes with 10-15 second breather and hit it again and again now I’m betting the house.  Mendoza is a stud.

Mendoza has only wrestled at NDI, so he still has four "dates" left. I think you get him some quality matches at 149 and see how he does. This is what they did with Sinclair last year. He wrestled at both 197 and 184 and had mixed results so he ultimately redshirted.

I think Mendoza could AA at 149 this year based on how he's looked and how much of a mess that weight class is

Agree completely.  And let Edmond and Seltzer fight it out at 41.  Edmond has so much ability, quickness and strength, but he seems to always wrestle to the level of his opponent.  Then has a lapse in effort that costs him matches against guys he should be teching.
