So, in the end there is no feasible solution to ever fixing this problem. The colleges will never lower there prices and the federal government (the taxpayer) will always continue bank rolling the loans with little or no restrictions. I think in the last go around 5.3 million borrowers received 188.8 billion dollars of loan forgiveness.

Not what I said at all. I said the key is making the schools have skin in the game. Without that there is no solution.

Whom is making the schools have skin in the game.  If the federal government pays for loans doesn’t that incentivize the schools to go far far away from having skin in the game

Financially dumb majors on both sides of the aisle.  No worries.

are stats sometimes disengenuous?

Harvard University's federal student loan cohort default rate is 0%. This is due to the university's no-loan financial aid policy, which meets 100% of demonstrated need through grants instead of loans.

Do you never tire of being lied to by AI?

Check the Harvard financial aid website. There is even a section on loans.

The government needs to make the schools have skin in the game. It is as easy as tying the availability of federal loans to the graduation rate of the school.

Quick overall fix, with no "Free Money" just lost interest.

1. Reduce Loans back to principal, less amount paid to date. (remove the interest, which is what increases defaults and burden)
2. If current on payments, you can deduct 100% of your payments that year on your taxes. Each year till paid off. Interest penalties for late payments.
3. But what about the people who paid their loans back with interest, you ask?
4. Simple, they can get a tax deduction over the next 10 years, and they can deduct the payments they made (on time) over a 10-year period as well.

Now, "No free payment or full forgiveness." By allowing the deductions, we inject more cash into the economy, and those who paid their loans get the same benefit.

Just my .02 now tear it all apart!

3 - 2 - sh@# whats next - apples - 1 - GO!

AI lies waaaaaaay more than Harvard. And it certainly is in this case. Some Harvard students do have student loans. And none of them are in default. Sometimes you try too hard.

https://www.collegefactual.com/colleges/harvard-university/paying-for-college/student-loan-debt/

A total of 2,015 Harvard University students entered loan repayment in 2017. After three years, 0.8% of these students (17 out of 2,015) defaulted on their loans.

Excuse me if I don't believe you.  It's low I'll grant you  but not zero.

Without even trying.  So Harvard does lie.  Got it.

The border has always been closed, many billions of dollars budgeted for many years. Claiming it was ever somehow "open" is political BS. And anyone now claiming that the border is suddenly "really closed" is just more political BS. People are still coming across illegally every single day.

The hostage exchange was good. Who accomplished it? The governments in the region, working together, accomplished it.

There are others who jump at the chance to take credit. Those efforts should be dismissed as showmanship BS.

If you believe in all the politicians' BS. Then - that is a choice you've chosen.

Snow plow driver from Minnesota is so angry that the Orange Man is getting $hit done.  Unlawfuls have been virtually shut down while 2 million have left on their own/been deported.  Trump forced Israel into the deal.   You can deny it all you want but the facts make you look stupid as usual.

You've proven my point. If you choose to believe the politicians' BS - that is certainly your choice.

I am more discerning about what I choose to believe.

I'm not like you; I don't rely on Fox News to tell me.

It doesn't take much to know political BS when you hear it. It's all over Fox News, and it's all over the White House.

Distrusting news from those that aren't trustworthy would be a good start for you.

Almost all political speak is rehearsed party specific rhetoric.   Politicians are trash. All of them.  All parties.
